General Discussion / Re: CG | Logo Update?
« on: June 24, 2014, 07:39:43 AM »
Same as everyone else, logo is good, rank not so good.

For the rank smooth out the owner text so it's less jagged and make the mini CG logo less blurry

Watchdogs wasn't really worth the money imo.

Anyways, I got FarCry 3 w/ Blood Dragon DLC, Euro Truck Simulator, Just Cause 2, and Hotline Miami.

Watchdogs isn't that bad ;).

You saying that from a story POV or graphics

Stuff you lot, get a nexus 4 or 5.

There's mods that you can download that just edit some of the watchdogs files and you can get the E3 2012 demo quality. I don't see why so many people are whining about watchdogs anyways, the graphics still look good. Maybe not as good, but they still look good. Anywho, I'm waiting on these flash deals for steam. Perhaps watchdogs will pop up lol

they fucked up with the PC version, people have a right to complain

They didn't "fuck up" the PC version they lowered the graphics on purpose. When you enable the settings to have the original graphics you will barely see an fps difference at all. As for the stuttering it's just the fact they are shit at porting, it wasn't a fuck up.

there will be no games for me atm since i dont have the money for any now until college finishes for me 2nd july

Buy and sell trading cards, you can make money off of it. While it not may be much, it's enough for games during the summer sale.

I just got the witcher 2 :)

You'll love witcher 2

They have noticed that people are starting to see COD as the cash cow that it is so now they have to throw in Kevin Spacy to get people to buy it.

"That people are STARTING to see"???!!?!?!?
Dude, CoD has been a cash cow ever since modern warfare.

And as for "UHHHMEEHHGEEWWDD COD IS COPYING TITANFALL" Yeah no, it more looks like it's copying Crysis. At least, that's what I was thinking of when I saw the trailer. Not fucking titanfal. :\

I agree, they are copying crysis like seriously... An exoskeleton that has armor, invisibility, jump boost etc, that's just crysis in a nutshell.

Support & Help / Y10 Mock Exams.
« on: March 07, 2014, 05:03:38 PM »
So at the end of this month i'm going to begin doing my mock exams and I was wondering if anybody has advice on how to space out my revision time.

Subjects:
Computer Science (Don't need to revise much at all)
ICT (Same as above the test is apparently fisher price for me according to my Teacher)
Science(Biology1, Chemistry1, Physics1) (Quite abit of time needed.)
Geography(A lot of time needed)
History(Average amount of time)
English literature and poetry(A hell of a lot of time.)
Maths Non and Calculator(Average amount of time aiming to get minimum a B so I can get an A or an A* next year.)(8 marks off a B on my last paper and I did some really retarded mistakes.)

So ye just need generally advice on how to divide up my time efficiently.

I'm going to structure it into the subjects and give my opinion on it etc. I'm in year 10 and doing a similar exam board.

Computing: By far the easiest subject out of the ones you listed. All you need to know is HTML CSS and Javascript at a amateur level and your good to go. The coursework generally consists of you being given some pre-built code and you have to extend it to meet some requirements. For Example for my GCSE my pre-built code is a form that people will use for exam entrys where they can type their name age etc, and you basically have to extend it to do some validation verification etc.

Honestly, in my opinion even if you don't know that much code you should be fine doing this subject :D. Also it might be easier than mine because you get 20 hours whilst I get 25 hours so yeeee.

History:Not much to say about it realllyyyyy. Errm well all I would say is pay attention in lesson and don't get distracted. Also another thing when answering questions (source based or not source based doesn't matter) always put a ton of evidence and detail in that is what gets you the marks. I dropped an entire grade for A to B on one mock question for the reason "You didn't put enough detail about Vesalius's main idea) So ye be wary of that.

Triple Science: Well I took Double, So I'm only doing B,C,P 1 at the moment so I can't help you at all with 2,3. Best asking somebody else:P

R.E: I didn't take this one so I have no idea what to say except always back up your opinions. Ask Derposki, http://www.catalyst-gaming.net/index.php?action=profile;u=22662 pretty confident he took R.E.

The Core Subjects: Maths honestly just revise a lot for those exams and pay attention in class, could be a good idea to go and get more work from your teacher perhaps? I got mock exams at end of this month so I decided to go and pick up a paper off him. After finishing this paper my teacher said he would go through the test with me 1 to 1 and help me learn where I went wrong. (I NEED THAT B OR A :P).

For English I'm not sure what to say I'm only getting C's in English (I made that sound like a bad thing) you have just got to provide Plenty of evidence back it up clearly make your point and for A and A* on some pieces try exploring alternate views, meanings etc because they love to see that.

I am taking computing, history, triple science and R.E along with the obvious science, maths and English.

You made it sound like quad science? I don't know what to say here :P.

But honestly just try your best and try and get minimum grade C's in all subjects as this will help with college. Good luck with that coursework :P

For computing we are using Visual Basic.
I meant core science and triple science but I wish my school offered double science because I don't really like biology.
Thanks for the advice and good luck with your GCSE's.

If your using Visual Basic then dang your life is easy.
