No specific sources I can list, but the best way to learn is to play around with brushes, entities, and inputs - outputs. IMO, once you understand inputs and outputs, anything is possible.

Not really, it'll be too complicated and cluttered so you won't be able to even realize what's going on.
Start from scratch, make a new map and watch some tutorials on YT.
