I'd be stupid not to allow one with so much support. Welcome.

Your problem is, you have too much opposition to have it changed and changes most likely won't happen. I do give you credit in posting a thread as to get something to change, and not sit back and complain.. but the majority rules right?

I'll approve the police to firefighter transfer given the Fire supervisors approve it.

I will also serve as an organizational manager and approve Fergfin, if his playtime is correct. Approval from a Fire supervisor is still required.

According to the database, his playtime is 1319 minutes, which equals 21 hours 59 minutes (as of this post.) Considering the playtime system has not broken that I know of, and factoring in his items and money I'd say that it is accurate. Though, I'd be interested to see what he sent statua.

Thanks. I also failed to mention that I did say we may allow for exceptions based on player time, in which I would consider approval by 3 Org administrators a go ahead. I'll PM org admins now.

And by the way, its not the mayor's job to be a dictator lol.

Due to this response, I can safely say that you are most likely not a good mayor and just a good economist (or perhaps neither). A mayor's job is to engage the public while running the city, not just half. (IRL a mayor is to promote events, create events, run the city, represent the citizens, etc.) RPing based upon the base of the mayor's engagement with the public can go either way...  and that is the result of a good mayor.

Suggestions / 97.7

Can we please have 97.7 back on the radio? Every genre other than a few I can think of are covered by the radio, except the general top 40. 97.7 was previously used and quite nice to listen to.. and even with minimal ads.

If you don't like general passive RP, encourage the mayor to create some as surely they too get bored after a while sitting in an office.
Personally, some people get annoyed when I install a totalitarian government as mayor, but I do such to get everyone involved.

Citizens are forced to RP when it comes to Police officers and trying to overcome the mayor.
Police officers are forced to engage with everyone they see.
Riots occur which result in S.W.A.T. and police deployment.
Secret Service must be more on alert for assassination attempts.
Firefighters are more likely to be deployed for car-bombs and fires.
Paramedics are more likely to be deployed for injuries.
Dispatchers have a hell of a time coordinating the government officials.
Tow truck drivers are used more due to stricter laws on parking and speeding.
Buses are used more due to the impounding of vehicles and the need for criminals to keep on the move.
(Yes I do understand the last two situations are less likely, but still possibilities.)

It's not S.W.A.T. that is the problem. It's the mayor for not engaging everyone in events (whether specifically an event such as a parade, or as a government as previously mentioned). That is your problem.

Information on how to get started as a police officer.

Click to see the original size. Click to see the original size.

Following your recruitment into the police force, beginners are suggested to partner with a more experienced player for learning purposes. However the next step is to get a vehicle. This can be found in the garage underneath the Nexus, via. the elevator beside the police NPC. Go to the garage and speak to this NPC to get a patrol vehicle.

That's it, you are all set! But be sure to read the rest of the guide for useful information.

    Job Description:
All jobs have a description, the job of a police officer is no different! Below is a general summary of the policing experience.

A police officer's job is to keep the streets calm, safe and crime free. Patrolling, monitoring traffic, listening to the dispatcher's requests and remaining on standby are key aspects in a day of a police officer's job. While you are to keep the streets safe and crime free, refrain from using too many police resources to do so. This includes police time and effort as five police officers are not needed for a red light infraction. Effort should further not be spent on protecting the mayor as there are other government officials who's job is to do just that!

    Your Purpose:
Your purpose as a police officer in OCRP2.

Your purpose as a police officer as mentioned before is to keep the streets calm, safe and crime free. You are to respond to the calls that the dispatcher has sent your way and deal with them, from a legal point of view. Calm and order is a great asset to the city of Evocity, something your job is to establish and protect. Your purpose is not limited to the streets however, domestic disputes, search raids and diverting the public from dangers are all part of a days work too!

    Job Specific Commands and Controls:
A list of job specific commands and controls, as a police officer.

Lights and Sirens: While in a police vehicle as the driver, SHIFT  or ATTACK2 is to toggle the light bar while, Q is to toggle the siren. While approaching intersections, use ALT or ATTACK1 for your alternate siren and notify traffic of your presence.

Police Radio: There are two forms of the Police Radio. Vocal (microphone) and Text. To use the Vocal Police Radio, press T to toggle your radio, then speak as you would normally with a microphone. To use the Text Police Radio, type /radio prior to your message.

Fining: While an individual is out of the vehicle press F3. A fining menu will open up and you can enter a reason and amount there.

Police Computer: While looking at a police vehicle, press F2. This computer will allow you to request warrants, find property owners and check vehicle owners based upon the license plate number.

    Relevant Job Information:
Information relevant to being a police officer in OCRP2.

    Government Resupply:
In event of a glitch where a police radio is lost or dropped, or an officer runs out of ammo, this is the thing you will want. Located in the nexus, simply opening the locker will resupply you with the basic tools of being a police officer. Located inside may be additional items to help you in your policing services such as road spikes for pursuits, and shotguns for raids.

Click to see the original size.

    Arresting:
When arresting civilian, the detained civilian must be transported to the Nexus for booking. Only at this time can you use the handcuffs to the full extent (left click) and have the civilian start their sentence.

    Communication with the Dispatcher:
Communication with the Dispatcher is key. Always inform the dispatch of your unit number followed by your situation and location. The Dispatcher's job is to dispatch the required Emergency Service personnel around the city, depending on the situation. It was a good run with Emergency Services. When I did RP with the other members it was by far great, but I am sad to say I am going to leave. I have finished my course in vehicle towing and mechanics, so I am going to use my knowledge in that and get a job as a tow truck driver.

Removed from roster. Enjoy your future as a tow truck driver.

Now I am getting into more code intensive suggestions, but perhaps even an undercover cop setting. If a police officer has his own personal vehicle, allow him to use it! In such, the vehicle must be set as a police vehicle (perhaps it must have to be approved by a mayor), and have the headlights serve as the lights. This would be even greater if reverse, brake and running lights were enabled as it would be easier.. to incorporate.

Another idea I felt may be nice to have is the dispatcher (if online) also receives life alert calls.. I am on the fence as to if the EMS should still have it or not if this was implemented though.

    EDIT:
After writing another thread, I realized another aspect that could be implemented is a mayor controlled 'emergency fund' which takes money from the income of the city and set aside for ransoms and emergency events.
