Why use them? :-\
Can't we just ban people for a six months/a year/two years?
Sometimes people come back, more matured, wanting to play a game mode seriously.
On the other hand, hackers need permabans. Always. Once a hacker, always a hacker. (assuming hacks are malicious)

No. Here's the thing: Permabans are a wake up call. When you get banned for 6 months, all you do is wait, and wait, you don't change at all. Trust me, I would know. When you get permabanned from somewhere, that's when it goes through your head- "How many other communities will I get permabanned from?" And that's when you decide to change. People won't change in preparation for the day they get banned, they just wait, and they don't change at all.

If you get perma banned your either an immature kid or a complete morron. Getting perma banned requiers effort in trolling and those who ger perma banned, well it's their own fault.

I agree with plumpdragonfly, I have got the same opinion about this issue.

If you get permabanned its because you screwed up too many times.
You should realize you'lre doing something wrong after your second or third ban. The excuse of "im permabanned i leartn my lesson pls unban" is old. Why cant you learn after your other 5, 6, 8 bans?

In my opinion:
A permanent ban is as effective as banning them for a year or two, but it also guarentees that they cannot get back on the server until they have posted an unban request. In certain situations, the administration team would rather have the ability to guarentee that they have completly examined the banee's case.

Why do people keep making threads about P-bans? We will ALWAYS use them. Read what Brandon, Ohdear, {RoFL}C4?H8?Cl2?S? have fun kid, and Caek said and you will understand.
