Stop being defensive. Statua was reminding you that while you may plan whatever you so please for the CWU, whomever Rofl does place in charge of the CWU will have the authority to either use or discard your system and ideas.

this won't be happening, at least not right away. we'll decide if an intelligence division is required/if the playerbase can handle it after launch.
as far as i know ricky plans on leading the next intelligence division and he wanted to emulate zealot but i deleted all my files from the forums and nobody else has access to them anymore
no one is leading anything as of yet. haven't decided on anyones' positions yet
I never said I was leading anything. I only started making preparations for the possibility of such a division existing.

The appointments in High Command for the CCA is up to Rofl, as he is the temporary SeC. I gave him a list of people who have shown interest in leading specific divisions and my recommendations. He'll make a choice for that.

I'm not sure on CWU and city administrators.

So how about this? R&d will be back with the medical division.  However the things they develop must be medical or biological related. On top of that, grid and  r&d will be required to create an auth app after development and post how they created it.
Research ought to be in the hands of the CWU. The CCA is a constabulary organization that only has a medical division - first and foremost - because of the need for armed field medics within the CCA. Perhaps, the higher ranking CCA medics could liaison with the CWU for research and development, but it is ultimately something that ought to be left to them, or perhaps even a new civilian organization. It truly does not fall within the purview of the CCA, and as such it will always mean that the CCA will be a far too wide-reaching organization. It's primary goal should be policing and intelligence - anything beyond that should only be things that assist in doing these.

In hl2 the cps used smgs as well as their pistols. In some of the radio chatter I recall there being something about an elite civil protection squad too. Having an elite squad at the start will be more beneficial then having ota which will hardly be used. This elite team can do standard patrols when not doing anything important.

I'm fine with there being an elite counter-insurgency squad until we are ready to launch OTA, but I don't want to see it be a regular thing.  I remember the CPs with SMGs from HL2, but they struck me more as a paramilitary force who were commissioned to conduct dangerous patrols through unregulated parts of the city.  I can best equate them to the Russian OMON police units: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OMON

What I mean to say is that we should not lose sight of the fact that the CCA is a constabulary organization, and their priority is to keep order.
The fire power of constabulary organizations typically increases dependent on the crime risk they face. In historical oppressive regimes, police had higher fire power; for example, the Volkspolizei in East Germany were given sub-machine guns and rifles when serving in areas likely to be targets of resistance attacks. It should be no different here.

With the return of HL2RP at Catalyst Gaming, we want to increasingly place the responsibility of decision making into the hands of the community. In these boards, all opinions are as valid as the next. Each will be given the same consideration, no matter the rank, prestige, or experience of whoever posts it. That livery is the livery that Ford put on as a generic design when they were first marketing the Ford Taurus and Explorer police cruisers. We should have the same livery for all Rockford police vehicles, as it only makes sense. But yes, to get a new skin on the Explorer, we need a template from SGM.

The sounds for SentryGunMan's Crown Victoria are awful, but TheDanishMaster's Crown Victoria has good sounds.

Simple solution: Switch the sound script.

Hey all,
   
   Just making this thread to suggest that you lovely devs change what job gets what gun. I'll cut to the chase.

Secret Service:
IRL, the United States Secret Service use the FN Five-SeveN as one of their standard-carry duty pistols. To make this job more realistic, boost the Five-SeveN to make it more effective (replace the USP with it but keep the USP's stats) and give it to them. Keeping the P90 is fine.

SWAT:
Keep the UMP, keep the XM1014, but change the USP to either the aforementioned boosted Five-SeveN or the P226.

Police:
Change the P226 to either the Glock (with the same stats, just a different model) or a singular one of CS:S' dual Beretta Elites. Since most modern police forces use Glock pistols or Beretta pistols as their patrol sidearm, change the way guns are seen so that the P226 replaces the current, craftable Glock and the Glock/singular Elite replace the P226.

Regular Guns:
   Replace the Five-SeveN with the USP (assuming the SS and SWAT suggestions are accepted).
   Replace the current Glock with the P226 (assuming the Police Officer suggestion is accepted).
   Change the magazine size of the craftable shotgun from 4 to 8.
   

As an alternative to this, you could change out all the weapons for their CS:GO counterparts:

MP5 becomes the MP7

TMP becomes... The TMP

USP becomes the P2000

Five-SeveN becomes the better, CS:GO Five-SeveN

Glock becomes the G18C, etc etc.
