I'm trying to get Rage to work on my computer but it crashes on startup. All I've heard is that the game has a horrible time dealing with ATI drivers.
I'm using.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
ATI Radeon HD 5450
Intel Core i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80 GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.80 GHz
8192 MB RAM
HALP.

You might want to be a tad more specific than "its horrible!" and "FUCKING"

That's exactly the problem though.
I click to start.
Comes up.
"Rage.exe has stopped working"
"FUUUUUUUUU-"

ATI Radeon HD 5450
That is your problem, MANY if not all people who have had Radeon's have had issues with Rage. I don't know if they patched it but this was the case a while back.
-
Heard of the problem before, I would call the company of the game and ask them.
-
Have you tried looking for a driver update that fixes the crash?

Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. Same result, I open it and it crashes instantly. If needed I'll take a small video to show my problem.

I found this off microsoft hope this works:
Hi,
1. Which version of Windows operating system is installed in your computer?
2. Have you made any changes to the computer prior to this issue?
3. When do you get this error message?
4. Are you trying to play any game?
I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Place the computer in clean boot state and then check whether it helps.
How to troubleshoot problem by performing clean boot in Windows 7 or in Windows Vista:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Method 2:
Try updating the graphics card driver and check if it helps.
Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly
Hope the information is helpful.
THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER RESETS THE SYSTEM!

Already updated my drivers.

Tried that?
The game also hates more than one screen / generic controllers apparently. I'd unplug these if you have them on startup.
Triple buffering disabling also works for some reason.
CCC -> Gaming -> 3D Application Settings -> OpenGL Settings -> Triple Buffering

I tried the "Rage performance driver"
It gave me a blue screen and loaded me back up with no video drivers. So I got my drivers back and updated them, still doesn't work.
I already tried toggling triple buffering off, didn't work.
I only have 1 moniter.
