1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.
 The entire world becomes hindered and tainted before the eyes of it's inhabitants. Safety no longer holds meaning to the human race, only survival and loyalty. Marcus Verilius has held his head high in determination to attain a position for himself among the greatest force to have been recorded in existence. The life of Marcus has been that of knowledge and questioning, a life of unjust and cruelty in its grandest of forms. This collective intake of narcissism and optimism has given him new found insight on the world before him.
 
 The people among him, once strong as nations, now stand divided and maimed like weak animals, primal and savage. These men and women who were supposed to be living together and staying united as a people's were stealing, hurting, and even killing each other over a wide array of pointless problems. At first glance he had deemed the world and its contents lost in the wrath of the portal storms and the devastation it spewed out. After many days of emotional depression and disarray, his sights then turned toward the Combine and it's vast control.

 His first assessment was of hatred and malice, an insatiable drive to destroy everything it took to rid the earth of the combine. However, with time and dwelling thoughts he knew that the invasion was the only "True" way to restore order to Earth and preserve what was left of humanity. His entire view was changed by what the combine brought to the table, and Marcus was very interested. The hope of re-instilling values that once were applied to humanity is but one of many goals Marcus lays upon himself as he applies his services to the CCA. Other goals will come to him in time as he learns not only about his superiors, but about himself as well.

2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)
 Marcus is a very insightful man, he grew up being taught always to examine one thing from multiple angles. He is a cooperative man, able to accept and utilize the help of another while also giving his equal assistance in return. Being strict and demanding has been in Marcus's background for the recent years, while proving good attention gathering and managing the resourcefulness of gathered forces, it also lays out as a weak point in keeping a level head in certain situations. Most important of all his flaws and perks to note, is his undying loyalty. If he is asked to uphold a given code or set of rules, he is strictly bound to make sure he follows that agreement until he is no longer bound by them, or he becomes deceased.

3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.
 This being my first CCA application, i am aware that it will bring on a vast variety of new opportunities and in game changes to the way my character behaves. I feel like the role play here is much more structured than some of my other go to games for role playing considering it follows a thorough time line. I think that inside this structure, the limitations to how my character will develop is a great opportunity to refine who he is and discover more about the finer points in his reasoning for joining. I feel like my character will be able to connect his actions with his true inner thoughts, enabling him to finally reveal to his friends and people around him the person he really is.
 
 Marcus has always detested the degraded status of humanity since the combine took over and feels like this is his chance to be apart of something that will actually benefit society rather than destroy it. There has been thoughts in his mind that being apart of the Combine Civil Authority would grant him a form of ruling authority over lowly citizens, however he feels that would be an abusive waste of his potential. Marcus has little information on how the ranks or duties of ranks work. So i feel that learning to understand that information it will be a great base character development for him.

4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.
 Marcus Verilius was born in a small home outside of Rome near the outlying settlements in Terni. His father was an American traveler greatly influenced by philosophy and knowledge of the world, which was one of his main reasons for traveling to Italy. There he met Marcus's mother, originally from Athens and part of a large family in Greece. Marcus's childhood was filled with vast amounts of schooling and instruction from his father. Learning as many methods of philosophy and world history his father could explain to him in a 14 year span. In his spare time, Marcus would often sneak away from his home in Rome to wander and explore, even so bold as to go all the way to Greece itself, for traveling was what Marcus's Heart truly desired.

 The weather was dark and the mood was grim when great amounts of talk began to surface about destruction in all parts of the world. Word spreading about of creatures ripping through earths surface, mutating other people, and even killing people without mercy. It was the most absurd thing Marcus had ever heard in his life and at first thought he paid no attention to any of it. The truth soon cut into their minds as they watched matter rip apart releasing creatures of a foul distinction, laying waste to everything in reach. With great haste Marcus and his family set up for a grueling travel all the way to Russia. The plan was to gather his mothers family and take a boat as far as they could, however on their departure matter began to tear apart in a violent storm causing the ship to break apart and the majority of the crew dead or greatly wounded. Only a handful had survived, including Marcus and his parents as they swam to the nearest shore trying to assess what horrid destruction had left their family in ruins.

 After 5 days of fearful migration, Marcus and his Family had arrived in Chekhov along with thousands of others. It wasn't long before they were safely within the local governments protection and found an area to reside in. Their presumably good and hopeful situation would soon take a turn into the worst. The housing unit they were stationed in was poorly maintained and constantly having to be worked on. The family had little to no money for food or basic hygienic needs. At her final desperate attempt to help her family, Marcus's mother had resorted to secretly selling her body in order to buy food for the household and pay for medicine to keep Marcus's recently ailed father alive. Marcus had tried to help his mother get out of this by looking for work and even resorting to stealing from markets and local shops. However his failures were more often than his success's and punishment came to him swift and hard. Disgruntled market workers gathered and beat Marcus along with local gang's spread out along the area upset with Marcus stealing from their territory.

 Shortly along the year Marcus's father had died from his strong illness despite His mothers attempts to care for him and the lack of support from the local area and its government. The stress and misery of their situation was to much to bear for his mother. On the eve of his fathers burial, his mother took to the highest building she could find and threw herself off. In a cold depression, Marcus wandered in the slums abandoning the remains of his so called "Home". It wasn't until after the end of the 7 hour war, that Marcus was eventually being gathered into Moscow along with a great number of people for relocation by the Combine Authority. People were herded onto trains and sent away to different parts of the world. The end of this journey would lead Marcus into the "Safer" City 45. In this city Marcus collected his experiences and his surrounding emotions into a desperate attempt to revive his mental stability. Through this he gained a stern but broad outlook on life, as well as an understanding of the absence of mercy in many lives. Over a brief period of time he was bold enough to make a friend, Aden Nichols. Marcus and Aden would later shape their ideas and goals into a Loyalist Movement among themselves in an attempt to improve their lives.

7. What�s your most memorable quality RP experience?
The most memorable experience would have to have been on Tnb, when i was in a building with a group of citizens who later turned out to be rebels. The room was breached and we were detained, however it was the start of a massive uprising in which we were rescued and safely evacuated to a nearby extraction point. The part i remembered the most was when they had locked the combine that detained us inside of our previous cell and left them there. It was greatly humorous in the moment. The whole situation was a bit over done and kind of unrealistic, but the idea of it all was highly interesting.

Hello Catalyst-Gaming populace, it's a pleasure to meet you guy's and be back to Role Playing again after way to long haha. It has been awhile since I've been able to find a decent role playing community with any structure at all, so believe me when i say it's a relief to have been directed to this site. So far from what i have noticed, the site as well as in game have shown that it has precisely what an RP community should have. Anyways, i wont bother you with mass amounts of text so ill leave off saying that i'm happy to have joined the buzz and hope to see you all in game!
