General Discussion / Metro 2033 RP
« on: May 15, 2011, 07:31:34 AM »
Ever since i brought up Metro 2033 in the "Homefront Roleplay" topic, everyone has been thinking it's a good idea.

The story is a good thing to know, I read the comics and everything before i considered thinking about what would make it a good role-playing game.

I went back into Metro 2033 to capture my best moment, and what made me wanna make a role-playing game, but this is just in the tunnels, and i want to tell you what i would do in the role-play.

"You know that guy who is the strongest, most religious, and loneliest person in the world, these characters are found in movies. When a person is hurt or something, he takes him to his camp. He has a campfire with pots and pans, it's in a dark lonely place. When you wake up, he offers you tea and food he made from his campfire, and you have bandages on you... When you look at his things, he explains what they are and what they represent. He takes you out where he lives and explains everything that happened."

I hear these kinds of things all the time, but i can just imagine someone doing that in a Metro 2033 Role-play.

Post your comments, or things you would expect in a role-play like this.

General Discussion / OCRP in Catalyst Gaming
« on: May 14, 2011, 08:11:55 AM »
"Isn't it strange that I who have written only unpopular books should be such a popular fellow?"

-Albert Einstein

OCRP has come a long way in Orange Cosmos, now it is given to catalyst gaming. Ever since, GMR, HRP, hell even FORTwars was just thrown away i seconds. I wouldn't remove the gamemode if i was Rofl, but if i have an unused server, i would obviously just cancel the servers out if nobody likes playing on them anymore.

What do you think about it?

I think the style of parkouring/shooting is pretty awesome.

Lots of customization and weapons. I love the abilities you can buy also.

Some bugs, and maybe not a lot of maps. I like it though, i continue to play it.

General Discussion / Weed/Marijuana/Cannabis
« on: May 09, 2011, 05:06:40 PM »
(ADMINS MAY MOVE THIS TOPIC IF IT DOESN'T BELONG HERE, OR MAY REMOVE IF AGAINST FORUM POLICIES.)

Let me get this out of the way before i start... Do not talk about others or you doing it if you don't want to... do not insult other people for doing it.
______________________________________________________________________________________

The name "Marijuana" came off of "Cannabis", which is now-a-days called "Weed". This was used as medicine around 4000-3000 B.C. in the Asian parts of the world, Buddhist's used it around Before Christ. It was first outlawed in the southern region of Africa in 1911... basically Cannabis was being outlawed in the early 20th century. It was finally outlawed in America in 1937... Before that, 1920 was a time where people would smoke it publicly... Even before that in the 17th century, slaves would grow it, then the master would smoke it. Mostly it was Tobacco, not Cannabis, but it was still a most used crop at that time. Most people smoked it from there on, but today people still use it for medical reasons. It's most known for being a drug you inhale and get "High" on... Here is a picture of what modern day Marijuana looks like, i call these nuggets... They are about 1 gram...

Now people say you can't die from Marijuana, thats untrue... Lung cancer is the most effective disease from Smoking Cannabis. Other body effects are normally just affecting what the chemicals do to your brain... You become, well, temporarily retarded, thats how i put it... But it's not your brain thats partially disabled, the chemical makes the cells die out, thats what makes you high. The body effects are shown on this diagram, and this is also how you know people have been smoking it recently...
From my experience, it might me very scary at first... I was breathing like a dog, i didn't know where i was, what i was doing, or what i was going to do. I could barely walk in a straight line, and i couldn't do almost anything right. My eyes were read, and i didn't wanna move. I also did think a little different about what was going on. I thought i was dead... and i also thought i was sleeping and having a dream.

In conclusion, it's a drug that is natural, it's now used mostly for smoking, but is also used for medical reasons. In my opinion, don't make people try it, and don't encourage them if they don't, don't abuse it. Over all... have fun with it...

Day 1...

I... just had the biggest day of my life...

First i get off the train and explore the city, then get dragged into D6, really quickly i start to realize why i am in D6, i can't remember. What i can remember is all the trouble started. First, i get to an apartment place. Then i stay and meet lots of people on the train. I meet the girl that saves me life... and i lose a friend.

I in D6 had danger my way, i was helped through. The combine came torwards us in a basement, and i didn't know what to do. Eventually, the girl of my dreams, mowes them all down and saves me life. I grab a gun and get out of there! Eventually i have been finding alchohol and lots of other things to cheer me up. I sleep at my apartment after one beer with my friend, and sleep.

I wake up to the train stopping, my friend is on that train! She told me over the radio, everything... everything! I get up and run to the station, until... my friend shows up, we go way back! He guides me away from the second wave of combines running through D6, i know from this day that i will never get into trouble again.

Staying out of trouble is the right thing to do Alex... Your friend died, you know how sad that is in less than one damn day? Just stay out of trouble, lets not do anything else but follow orders.

What would you do that is talent. For me, i have been playing the drums since i was 10, i am starting to learn about dubstep and how to make dubstep. I know i am a bit obsessed with dubstep, but it's just my thing.

What's your talent... everyone has one, even if you think you don't, what are you good at?

General Discussion / Shooting your first gun
« on: April 26, 2011, 03:50:52 PM »
How old?: 9 years old

Where?: At my friends house

When?: 2005, Summer.

What gun?: Pump shotgun

Overall Experience?: I was surprised at how i shot a gun, i had no recoil, and it had a loud shockwave. Smoke came out of the nozzle, which i thought was cool. I was shooting at a board with a target. I shot twice and got the target once. Reloading is what i didn't do, but it was confusing. Aiming was good, and i thought it was fun.

Now tell us your experience! How did you feel shooting your first gun?

Suggestions / Question about radio streams
« on: April 23, 2011, 11:19:56 AM »
Now i know our servers are a bit off now, but i was thinking what if we had the power to run a radio stream.

I can't say we aren't able to, but if we are able to, you can move this to the suggestions place.

I just don't want to sound like an idiot before i post, but i have no clue about the community and what is happening right now.

EDIT: Thanks Krystal
