Title: Cross-Platform Multiplayer

So far some games such as TF2 are cross platform, people on Windows and OSX can play together, but when can we expect such things to go mainstream? What about cross platform for PC to Xbox/PS(I dunno if it's possible, I don't know much 'bout it)? Discuss anything and everything crossplatform.

I don't think PS and Xbox will do it, but PC might cross-platform with them. I think it would be pretty good to play with someone on Xbox while on PC.

Bitch Please, Nintendo is already doing it with their upcoming Smash Bros game.
People on the WiiU and people on the 3DS version can play together and shit.

As for PC with consoles, I doubt that will ever happen. Not only because those games are simply different versions, but also that PC will have the advantage of mouse and keyboard with shooters. Because you are simply fucking retarded if you play shooters with a controller. Just my opinion, don't hate.

I'm probably gonna get smash bros on the 3ds, I wasn't aware they're doing cross-platform with the Wii-U.

crossplatforming any game in the shooter genre will only end badly with PC having a major advantage

certain genres can work though, like turn based games or simulations such as racing and flight, like war thunder which was mentioned above or the F1 games
