Suggestions / Regarding the P90 and Five-Seven

Simple suggestion.

Since the 5.7x28mm round, or rather, P90 and Five-Seven ammo, is armor-piercing IRL, have rounds fired by the P90 or Five-Seven pierce Kevlar vests in OCRP.

Support & Help / Weapon Textures Not Loading

Yeeeeah.

Whenever I go on HRP, the textures for all rifles/the MP5 are just pink-and-black cubemaps and not actual textures. The models are still there (they're suprisingly detailed, the textures make them seem like they're not), but they, again, aren't textured. Other than this, everything works fine.

The only reason I reported this is because, well, here's the weird thing: I have HL2, CSS, Ep.1/2, DODS and TF2 installed and mounted, which is why the fact that they aren't textured is weird.

I'll try and get some actual evidence when I go on my PC later.

Support & Help / Payday 2 Issues

Hey guys,

Recently bought my new PC, but when I installed Payday 2, everything fucked up. It worked fine on my old one, but on this one whenever I launch it it starts up fine, but the main menu is ridiculously glared over to the point that EVERYTHING is white (I can't even see the menu buttons) and whenever I load a map/heist, all I see are white, transparent dev textures/the map doesn't load, and my viewmodel is not textured. I really love Payday 2, and I really wish it worked properly, so if anyone else is having this issue/knows a fix, please come forth.

Hello everyone. I've actually been here for... Well, I watched OCRP2 live and die, so roughly half-a-year. Aaaanyways, I just stumbled upon the introduction section as I was browsing the forums, so...

Hey, I'm Strelnikov. I'm a 19-year-old Russian guy living in Canada. I enjoy HRP and, assuming it comes back, OCRP. I have a strange obsession with the SCP Foundation and the covert intelligence sectors of the government, as well as an extreme liking of the history of Russia.

Soooo... Yeah. That's my introduction. Find me in-game sometime, I go by Aleksi Strelnikov on both Catalyst RP gamemodes, typically either enforcing the law or breaking it.

Suggestions / New Limousine

So:

To the best of my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong), OCRP doesn't have a limo at the moment. I was browsing the Gmod workshop a little while ago, and I found this:

In short, it's a limo made by the same guy that created the motorcycle that Bish The Draggity suggested, which was accepted.

This would require almost no coding, just re-doing the seating vectors/positions and integrating the horn and headlights. Nothing our good pal Stevo can't do.

Bug Reports / SWAT Van Handling and Speed

Simple report.

What happened when the bug occurred?
The SWAT van is way too slow and can barely even get up the ramp from the Nexus garage.

What was supposed to happen?
SWAT van needs to be far faster and turn tighter.

Accepted Suggestions / Extra Police Cruiser

Quick suggestion.

Most modern police departments employ more than 2 vehicles for patrol officers, so... Yeah.

Just add the Sickness Vapid with the old Evo City Police Department (the black skin), but edit the texture so it says Rockford PD.

Suggestions / Gamemode Overhaul Ideas, Part II.

Hey all, and this is Strelnikov's offical gamemode overhaul suggestion thread. Part I was an old thread that didn't really go anywehre, so now it's time for part II. I'll try to keep this as updated as possible. Anyways, I'll jump right in.

IDEAS:

1: Overhaul weapons (posted a thread a while back) or change the server from CS:S to M9K.
M9K is really great looking and it would be retardedly easy to add a much wider selection of weapons due to the vast number of weapons included in the M9K packs. If needed, I will take the liberty of making an official Catalyst-Gaming content pack on the workshop (for every server; OCRP, HRP, etc).


2: Remove the buggy TDM/SGM vehicles (with refunds of course).
Just remove the ones that bug out when model detail is set to anything lower than high. This would solve a lot of people's lag issues as they wouldn't have to have their graphics settings turned up as high.


3: DE-NERF WEED!
For god's sake, this alone would restore the playerbase!


4: New jobs (such as an actual detective job instead of a police rank).
We seriously need more jobs. OCRP, by the time it died, was basically cops'n'robbers.


5: More PassiveRP options (easier-to-obtain props, etc).
No explanation needed. Just easier-to-obtain props (but NOT like HRP's prop system) so people can run stores easier.


6: Seriousness level.
Keep it semi-serious, but tweak the rules so it isn't like we're reenacting 1984 whenever OCRP is played.



I'll try to update this as frequently as possible as soon as I read what the rest of the community is saying.

Revive OCRP? We can do it.

Suggestions / Changes to What Jobs Get What Guns

Hey all,
   
   Just making this thread to suggest that you lovely devs change what job gets what gun. I'll cut to the chase.

Secret Service:
IRL, the United States Secret Service use the FN Five-SeveN as one of their standard-carry duty pistols. To make this job more realistic, boost the Five-SeveN to make it more effective (replace the USP with it but keep the USP's stats) and give it to them. Keeping the P90 is fine.

SWAT:
Keep the UMP, keep the XM1014, but change the USP to either the aforementioned boosted Five-SeveN or the P226.

Police:
Change the P226 to either the Glock (with the same stats, just a different model) or a singular one of CS:S' dual Beretta Elites. Since most modern police forces use Glock pistols or Beretta pistols as their patrol sidearm, change the way guns are seen so that the P226 replaces the current, craftable Glock and the Glock/singular Elite replace the P226.

Regular Guns:
   Replace the Five-SeveN with the USP (assuming the SS and SWAT suggestions are accepted).
   Replace the current Glock with the P226 (assuming the Police Officer suggestion is accepted).
   Change the magazine size of the craftable shotgun from 4 to 8.
   

As an alternative to this, you could change out all the weapons for their CS:GO counterparts:

MP5 becomes the MP7

TMP becomes... The TMP

USP becomes the P2000

Five-SeveN becomes the better, CS:GO Five-SeveN

Glock becomes the G18C, etc etc.

Suggestions / "Next Page" Buttons on Multi-Page Threads

   I was thinking, we should add buttons on the bottom of every thread that allow you to go forward/back a page in the thread. I have a ridiculously sensitive mouse, so it's kind of hard for me and, I assume, anyone else with a sensitive mouse to click on the really small link that says the next page number. They could look kinda like this:

[Previous Page]

   I just think they'd be a small but helpful addition to the CG forums.

Support & Help / Random Loss of Connection

Hello all,

   Whenever I play HarborRP, and ONLY HarborRP, which is what makes it weird, I lose connection EXACTLY at 7:00 PM Halifax Atlantic Time. I don't know if it's a problem with my internet connection, your server, or my end-user PC, but it's really annoying. If someone could look into this, that'd be great.
