Create New Character Bug

I have been having this problem when creating one of my characters:
When clicking the "create" button, I am taken to the gender option. However, I am unable to choose my character's gender because the HTTP page is blocking the button with a white-opague screen.

Not only that, but when I am at the start-up menu, I get quite a lot of lag. This affects when typing in a new characters name or even the description. Does anyone have the same problem?

To get rid of the white HTTP screen which really should be removed all together, click the X at the top right to close it.

As for the lag, map is poorly optimised as it's been since Kaz fiddled with it and causes FPS issues and now disappearing shit when looking at certain angles. It'll either be that or your settings are too high. Does your Gmod usually run fine?
