MPF units should still receive it. One of the whole points of having the CCA in the HL2 lore was to have a volunteer force of law enforcers that have their lives made slightly better by doing so (hence, free tokens, better food, etc).

idk if people saw my suggestion a while ago, it was to remove all paychecks entirely, give dvls and maybe ofcs a paycheck or just a weekly/monthly lump sum and make them pay their own units however they wish/however is allowed (maybe all of cca has a fixed rate pay, or maybe each dvl can pay based on performance, whatever)

then this also removes tokens randomly flowing into citizens asschecks and gives citizens a real reason to keep tokens, though again there would have to be no gigantic stupid roleplay breaking lump sum for donating, but whatever, i've never seen it done in hl2rp and i think it would work amazingly

I agree actually. I say strip paychecks from all characters except HC+ units and then implement a payment system so they are actually compensated for their work. That way its more of a working economy going on in the server and units aren't just paid automatically for sitting on their asses. That way they can work for their tokens to buy their own supplies and paid according to their effort and such; maybe even getting bonuses for a job well done.

However, rations would be a must. An absolute, imperative must. That, and maybe CWU operated work cycles which I suggested long ago before the server went down once. And I also think we did it once or twice on C45. But basically, have the CWU set up a water treatment plant or maybe ration packaging (that way it can provide some RP of maybe citizens sneaking some food or tokens for themselves if they feel brave and sneaky enough) or the like. We could also do a thing where citizens who volunteer for work like how most of them used to for LP's can also do something for a very (very, very) small amount of compensation. Maybe like 2-10 tokens per job done and/or quality or amount of work done on that assigned job?

I'll summarise it as neatly as I can:

1. I sort of disagree with this because I don't really see the big deal, but if people want it, I guess that's how it'll end up. I won't fight it if it's put in, I'm not even fighting it now, I was just asking why it was a big deal which Frog replied to, so did Cow.
2. The reason it is how it is now is because literally no schema changes were made, all that was added was a rank loader (that we've been having trouble with, should be fixed in Khub's update) and some other stuff I may not know of. Hopefully the update will make the server's systems a bit more reliable, but we'll have to wait and see.

You'll see me whitelist people and stuff on HL2 RP - but that's because only SA's can as far as I know, and the only other SA I know of is Nicknero, and Waffle whenever he is on. I change stuff when admins ask me to, but that's about it. As far as the suggestion goes, feel free to continue with it. I just hope that the digits change will be automatic (something I bet Khub will work on if this is implemented)

If you guys really want this implemented - I guess I'll provide my support for it. I'll shoot a word to Waffle and see what he says if you guys want me to. Pretty sure he's seen this topic already - but you know.

Why change it? Why does it bother you to see 5 when you can just call them out on the first 3?

everything you post in suggestions is ignoring the suggestion and saying "well what we have already works okay so why change it even tho the majority wants it changed"

I'm not ignoring the suggestion. I'm asking why it's such a big deal - am I not allowed to ask? It's literally a simple question, I'm not being lazy because I can't change it to begin with.

The big deal is player preference. Simple as that.

I still don't see the big deal with this, it's literally two digits. Should we just remove the two digits from the CID too since it's distracting?

Simply out of my failing to see the need for more than is necessary and ease of remembrance. Not all of us are gifted with good memory. Yes, I can just try remembering the first 3 digits, however the last two often throw me off and makes it difficult to continue to recall for longer than a few minutes. Even for my CID, I often find myself having to hold f1 quite a few times before I can remember it for all of 2 minutes at rations, only to forget it again.

Coupled with the fact that I am evidently not the only one who feels this way. Plus we've always done it that way and its familiar.

Can't we just call units by their first three digits and then have the last two digits as a unique identifier?
Like I said, 5 is fine. If it's this big of a deal, just remember the first 3. I've yet to see anyone with the same first 3 digits, so you're fine.

HD skins seem legit but not every division needs its own model, let's keep it a bit black and white this time then before.
How about:
  • HD Metrocop and Female Metrocop, C8 Metrocop, or Blue-Eyed Metrocop (preferrably HD) for 03 and below.
  • Trenchcoat Metrocop model for 01.
  • Retrocop model for TrO's.
  • Concept Trenchcoat model or (assuming it isn't selected for regular units) C8 Metrocop model for OfC's.
  • Elite Shock Unit for DvL's.
  • Breen Troops for SeC.

As well as specialty models for the different divisions (ie, NOVA units get the Civil Medic model, RAZOR gets the Urban Camo model, GRID gets the TRON-style models, etc).

Specialty models are not necessary and only cause problems. I say we keep it as vanilla as possible.
