A lot of stuff has happened while I've had my 2~ months summer break and it's all really made me realize that I'm completely wasting my time while I'm at CG - spending all day sat on my ass not doing anything, not keeping up with my friends and not really doing anything.
I tried planning a massive big post to seem really cool and such but I'm bad a that sort of thing so this is basicly me saying that over the next year (starting within a few weeks till about June next year) I'm not going to be on CG anywhere near as much as I am now, at least I plan to not be anyway.
I simply don't have a life right now, I want to spend more time with my friends in real life and actually get social, rather than spending all my time worrying over little things online and literally getting wound up about stuff that I shouldn't be. So I'm going to go out more, with my current friends and probably make a few new ones, start hanging out a lot more and doing shit, you could call it "doing a roflwaffle" I guess, although I don't have the money or hotwings to acquire a woman yet.
I don't know how severely this will lower my activity, and to be honest while I want to spend all my time doing shit IRL I know that probably won't happen, so I'm probably making a big deal out of nothing - but I guess this is also sort of summing up my summer and what I've learned rather than just a "I might not be around as much" post. So yeah. Dunno what to say really, I'll still be on Steam and sometimes the servers, but realizing how much time I've wasted is really quite suprising.
yuh~
I'm sorry this seems like a massive drama post considering I'm just going to be "a bit more inactive", but anyone who was like me should try and just... not sit on their computer all day, the shit I realized I've missed out on is awful, and considering in a year I'll be 18 I don't fancy spending my birthday on my computer...

Jonco: Guitars and Vocals Orange: Louder vocals Me: Making a 5 minute video with lyrics because the sound quality I recorded it at was bad This masterpiece is a live, improvised song that Jonco and Orange sang, I simply think it's amazing. The first part of the video is a small bit of another live improv bit, but the main song comes after - oh and yes I spelled hippie wrong because idk whoops~ free mp3: http://www.sendspace.com/file/8rre83

Basicly I really, really want to host an event where maybe 6 or 7 units (and possibly citizens too?) are locked in a building or some sort of complex, and a series of "tests" or challenges are given to the group, and they will have to work together or possibly against each other to succeed.
Basicly suggest ideas for tests/challenges or for the even in general here, or discuss the idea its self and what you think of it and stuff.
Sorry for spelling and grammar and the lack of sense in the post, it's very late (early), but I hope you get the idea~

A young man pushes some hair out of his face with the back of his pencil as he sits silently in a dark corner of the inn. He returns the pencil back to a pad of paper and begins stroking long lines across the upper-most piece of paper. He looks up every now and then before returning his gaze back to his drawing. A basic sketch of a man stares back out from the paper with a warm smile and short scruffy hair. Under the sketch is a single word crudely written, "Markus".
//Im bad at IC-writings and for whatever reason I really hate this, but it's just a short introduction to Dan in the Outlands - and yeah you wouldn't know what he's drawing IC of course, but this is just a short intro etc etc etccccc

I hate to bring my stupid personal issues to CG but I've been feeling really shitty about generally everything lately and I've been wondering if any of you guys know if it's depression, something else or just nothing, I dunno. Some shit I been feeling: I can pretty much list every symptom off the NHS page for depression and I've felt it at some point over the last couple of days. Kronic told me I should try get some sleep but really I've been having shit sleep for years and never felt like this before. So uh, share stories and discuss what you think I'm feeling I guess? idk ps. Don't get confused if this thread suddenly gets removed I'll probably hate my self for posting it then remove it

// Put little notes, advertisements and messages here. Please remember it's in public space and probably being watched most of the time by the CCA! \\
*A new notice board is pinned up in the UCH lobby, it is completely blank.*

RPing around someone being detained Odd title but basicly this guide will instruct you the basics on roleplaying in a scenario where a Unit is arresting and detaining someone. Shorter guide this time, too. Step 1 - EnvironmentFirst thing to do is check your environment. You're probably in the middle of the plaza, near the nexus, with other units fairly closeby - along with the one detaining a man. This means that the CCA is probably watching you in one form or the other, which also means you wouldn't really want to commit any civil offences right now. Step 2 - AvoidanceCrap, someone you know is being detained! This doesn't mean stand still and stare at them with no roleplay at all. Sure it's okay to watch (if it's a single low ranking unit doing the detaining) but you need to do some passive rp. For example "/me takes a quick step back as the unit detains the man, trembling slightly." It's not perfect but the most likely choice for a citizen would be to turn around and walk away from the scene. Think about it - you don't want to be next, do you?
Its short but whatever most citizens don't seem to realize any of this stuff. If anyone has any ideas or requests for another guide give 'em to me yes.

pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease watch this video, it explains about CPU cores in regards to gaming, and it's just good to watch for all you sillys buying shit like 8 cores for PURE gaming... If you can't watch the video, tl;dr 1 core is bad, 2 cores will give only MARGINAL FPS difference (1-12~) compared to quad cores!!!

Fairly Escaping from RP Due to the number of "minge runners" or people just unfairly running from RP, I'm going to write a short OPINION BASED guide on how to fairly escape from a Unit or any RP in general.
- Step 1 - CheckFirst of all, are you sure you could make an attempted escape in-character? Assuming you're a citizen in the city you're most likely very underfed and weak - is it even possible for you to try to force an escape from an encounter with a unit? Maybe a recruit or an 05 - but think about these things before even beginning to plan an escape/run. Step 2 - PlanningOkay, so for whatever reason you feel that your character has a decent chance of being able to force an escape. Great, now we start planning. How are you going to escape? You can't just "/ me runs" - that's pretty lame. Are you going to try and smack the Unit in the face before trying to run off? What about trying to push him over? This should still be checked against your strength and the Unit's rank, I'm sure you know but you're not going to be pushing over Officers in the city. Step 3 - Escaping, part 1Now it's time. Think about your actions both IC and OOC. A good example would be something like "/ me thrusts a closed fist towards the Unit's facemask before attempting to run past him." This is good because not only is there zero powergame (a Unit can easily respond with an attempt to block that - here's where PTL (play-to-lose) and deciding between each other who would "win" comes into play). Let's say the Unit is nice and lets you succeed. Great! Time to sprint off I guess? Step 4 - Escaping, part 2NO - please please don't just hold shift and run off at this point. This is the most important part! STAY there to continue roleplaying with the Unit! Neither of you can successfully /me your actions while sprinting across the Plaza! Stay with the Unit and keep doing /me's such as "/me is successful in running past the unit, he picks up pace as he runs off around the corner." - which could then be met with a Unit's response "/me slowly recovers from the sudden hit, drawing his pistol as he tries to take aim." - you get the idea, LET the RP continue, don't just run off - it's an RP server after all. Step 5 - EscapedSo now you've got away after some lovely detailed /me's and role play - so now you run back into the Plaza and have another go? Well it would make a lot more sense for your character to try staying low at this point, you don't want to be found right now after all. Well done for presumably getting this far and NOT mingerunning off!

These are the current rules S2M (Shoot to Miss): - Long distances - Citizens (mostly) - 03 and below
S2H (Shoot to Hit): - All units at Mid Distances (within reason) - 02 - OfC at far distances - Citizens (VERY RARELY) - Authed users that are authed to have marksmanship experience
S2K (Shoot to Kill): - OTA - Close range (WITH RP REASONS) - 02+ at mid range - DvL+ at far range (Within reason. They wouldnt be able to S2K from the UCH to D2, but you know what I mean)
Ranges are described as: Close: Up to distance from Nexus Side Airlock door to Side airlock door (about distance from center area in plaza to cwu wall.) Mid: Up to length of catwalk bridge from D2 to wall Far: Everything else
I suggest these or something along these lines: S2M (Shoot to miss): - ALWAYS, every unit, every resistance, untill...
S2K (Shoot to kill): - An admin calls for S2K (in a large raid or server wide event) - You PM your opponent, human or CP, and discuss whether to keep it S2M or turn it S2K (smaller firefights and skirmishes)
Shoot to miss rules: - EVERY OOC shot will miss, it is up to the RPers to trade off hitting IC shots (you will be smart enough to know that you as an 05 will be very unlikely to hit a human at 150m with your pistol, while a rebel with an SMG behind cover will probably hit an 04 standing in the middle of the open). - Long range shots can be RP'd over /events or /PMs depending on the "event" (a large outlands raid would probably use /events while a small firefight would use /PMs to RP long range shots
Shoot to kill rules: - You don't over do it, let the gunfight flow and continue, but don't feel restricted, if someone runs out of cover start firing close to them, if they don't learn kill them (both CPs and resistance) - If the event was made S2K by an admin or the event leader, that's final, no crying in OOC -WIP, I might add more or change but leave your opinions-

Ok so my current PC is:
Operating System MS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit SP1 CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ RAM 4.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 Graphics AMD Radeon 5770 Hard Drives 200GB Seagate 150GB Seagate
I'm sorry if I made you jealous with my PC, anyway...
I know what I'm doing with computers, but I wanna get opinions on what I should get, as it's my birthday coming up and I'm planning on totally upgrading my PC. The one issue is, neither me or my parents have enough money for an AMAZING PC, or hardly enough for a mid range one, so I was thinking getting something like an AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz, which would inturn require a motherboard & RAM upgrade, so I was planning just any old AM3 mobo & 4/8gb ram, I just can't get it cheap enough, really I can't go over £300 (fuck yeah cheap parents & unemployed teen), so wat do?
tl;dr need a new pc, keeping graphics card, very low budget, pls help
also dont link me prebuilt crap, I'm looking into getting a barbones bundle though cause they're sometimes pretty cheap
