The Outlands' Inn (Downtime Roleplay Thread)

Jennifer nods to Eli as he gives the order, rushing up the stairs to the second floor as soon as she's given the command. She pulls the string out, scanning through the windows and other openings for any sign of an antlion. She smirks, finding a suitable target with one of it's legs stuck through an upper window. She pulls the string back, holding her breath. As the shadowy figure bursts through the door on the floor below, she releases the string, an arrow shooting towards the body of the antlion. A loud shriek emits from the creature, and its struggling ends. She quickly, and almost frantically, slides another arrow along the string, pulling back with great force. She releases the arrow, it soaring right by the man's body. It finds its mark, landing straight into the head of an antlion right behind the male.

Antlions are swarming the town. If you got a weapon, or even if you don't, get your ass to the basement and help defend there. Oh, and there's a storm outside.

As people begin scurry around, it didn't take an advanced knowledge of the english language for Borislav to figure out that shit was hitting the fan.  As the sound of antlions grew nearer, he instinctively ran to the basement, following everyone.  Once there, he found a corner and hunkered down in it, hoping that the Americans could fight them off.

Not far away, on one of the cliffs, a small primitive cover of leafs and sticks would be visible to those who looked fairly good enough. A single person would step out, notified by the gunshots. It appears to be a female, around in her twenties as she looks down her Kevlar to find her radio. As soon as she found it, she would flick it on, hoping to hear a few words coming from people around the valley, remaining silent herself.
As she waits for anyone to start speaking, she heads back inside to start equip her items. Annoyed by the weather, she would notice some of her gear being damaged due to the rain and mud, yet fairly most of it would be functional. Her own Kevlar and cloths would be fairly soaked through entirely, making it even colder for her.
Inside her smaller cover, she did start to get warm by jumping a few times on the spot, before starting to sprint on the same spot, limited by the rations she has with herself. As soon as she is finishes, she reaches down on her smaller bedroll, uncovering the weapons of which she have.
She wraps the Sniper pulse rifle out, slinging it onto her back making a notice of, how dry the cover could keep it. As she looks back down, she would notice not all her equipment being as lucky. Her submachine gun were merely entirely soaked through, dripping with water, making it unable to fire. Neither the less, she slings it across her chest, before glaring down on the pistol of hers, seeing it would be slightly wet, but still able to fire a few shots possible. She holsters it back onto her belt, turning around to face the 'door' of her cover, looking towards the town.
At the distance, she wouldn't be able to see fairly much, making her unslung her rifle yet again, keeping the safety on, as she raises it to look through the aim, towards the city.

"Let's see what I can see from up here through this horrible weather..."

As the second antlion burst through the door, Beef heads over to a table and kicks up to make some cover. Saying a quick prayer he pops up and shouts to the shadowy figure,

Get to the basement! Now!

Beef attaches his silencer, for now, he doesn't want to make any noise.

Soon an antlion notices the door to the inn and bursts in. Beef fires in two quick bursts, 2 shots miss while 3 other manage to hit the creature in the chest. The creature emits a loud shriek as it falls limp in the entrance-way.

Take that you bug eye'd mother fucker!

Startled by the sudden commotion, Edwin decides to flee to the basement; he leaps to the cover of the counter, tripping to the ground, he stumbles upwards and takes a sharp right, heading down the corridor. Harkness then takes another right towards the door to the basement, he pulls on the handle sharply, slips inside and slams the door shut. Edwin descends down into the dim cellar, looking around with alarm but relaxes upon seeing fellow refugees are with him.

Ori proceeds to the basement, only jogging. He sees the antlion that Beef killed, and passes by it. He looks at the window, seeing the pulse rifle lazer beam.

He then shouts "Shit! We got OTA!"

Ori points to the beam, alerting everyone, before running to the basement.

Assuming Challenge's pulse rifle /does/ make a beam, like the OTA snipers.

OTA isn't really here, but Challenge's character has a pulse rifle, which is making the laser beam of the rifle. That is why Ori said there was OTA, as he didn't really know that it was a human, not a combine.

Edit 2: Took another look at Challenge's post, and it says: "She wraps the Sniper pulse rifle out..." Means it /is/ a pulse SNIPER.

Currently dealing with some stuff and checking up on certain servers. But i will update the situation of all the Antlions as well as the storm once i get back. Stay tuned people.

Post Auto-Merged: November 02, 2012, 11:29:18 PMThe antlion that was latching onto Scruffy's arm tries hard to keep his arm in his fang's grip, but the continuous attack with the blunt nightstick eventually destroys it's exo-skeleton, killing it. As it goes limp it simply slides off to the side. sliding down the cliff as the mud flows down.

Their way now clear. They must react quickly if they want to get to the Inn before anything worse happens.

At the Inn, two more antlions enter, seemingly looking for people to attack. Though Beef has already started people into getting holed up in the Basement, where Joanna has taken the Radio and her PDA, she frantically types more commands into it as they set it up on an old table in the basement.

[Darius, We need that bloody radio working NOW.]

[Just a bit longer...]

The radio finally clears out for good, now everyone being able to communicate easier between one another. Meanwhile outside the Inn, Eli is taking advantage of the storm's loud thunders to confuse the Antlions, keeping his movements quiet and hidden by the thunder as he takes out another 2 Antlions. More seem to come by the second as he keeps moving through the town, trying to clear out any resistance he finds. He looks behind him to check on Violet, unsure of wether she has found resistance yet or not

Violet you beter watch out- This many Antlions it's only a matter of time before a guard shows up.

The idea seems implausible considering how small Beles town is. But with the storm raging like this, it's only a matter of time before the antlions believe the only safe haven from the water is Beles. With more Antlions coming in (but with the few already dead) there are now 6 Antlions left wandering the town attacking at random, 2 inside the inn still looking for stragglers that did not go into the basement, and no certainty of wether more will come, or if a guard will show up.

"A guard?" she shouted over the rain and carnage, "What the fuck is a-SHIT!" She fires 5 rounds at an antlion who heard her shouting and began charging at her. The first 2 rounds miss, however the last three hit, shredding the bugs exoskeleton and disabling it. There was no thunder at the time she fired the MP5N which could attract a hoard. Violet looks on for her next target.

Sorry I'm albit late, this is just a little after Beef tells people to get into le' basement, but just before Eli mentions the Guard.

34370 stays glued on top of the small antique table as the crowd of residents within the Inn begin to be herded to the basement. He hops down from the small coffee table right behind the last clump of the crowd, keeping close to the heels of peoples shoes to avoid being shut-out. 34370 quickly zips inside the basement, he 'cuts' in front of a few people, before loosing traction and falling off the edge of the staircase. He lands on his back, making a soft pained squeak as he remains motionless for a moment, pressumbly sore. After a moment, the front end of the small headcrab shakes from side to side, as if clearing its vision, its make an annoyed growl as its legs claw at the air as the headcrab tries to right itself, providing some comic relief for the denizens of the basement.

As Violet's bullets attract more Antlions, Eli drops the subtlety, standing close to Violet but looking the opposite way to cover her back as a pair of Antlions scurry towards them. He fires 3 times at one, same "Triangle" style of firing as before, missing the first shot but the second two hitting it straight in the front, effectively killing the Antlion. The second one however flies over them, trying to pounce at Eli, He quickly unseathes his hidden blade and stabs at the creature as it attempts to land, hitting it in the under-part of it's stomach, ripping at the most under-armored part of it's "design", needless to say the process was not entirely hygienic, but it killed the Antlion off quickly. Two other Antlions attack at Violet, scurrying towards her and keeping their attacks grounded as they go towards her. The rest of the antlions outside seem to move apart for a moment... Their wings stretching out as they seem to hiss and do a group callout to something.

The Antlions inside the Inn quickly find Beef, but with the closed enviroment that is the Inn, only one of them is in a position to attack him, quickly scurrying at him and attempting to tackle him.

The hell are they doing?...

Eli keeps his gun trained at an Antlion on the roof of one of the houses in the town. Looking at them perplexed as the Antlions seem to keep their distance for the moment... After a couple of seconds of their little callout, a loud roar can be heard in the distance, from which people can only guess is a massive creature. With them backing away from the town, Eli quickly realises what they did. They called the Guard into the town.

Joanna quickly sends a message through the Radio as it finally clears out

Radio's cleared for the most part but we've got Antlions already inside the Inn-!

As she says that, the people and creatures inside the Inn's basement can hear the Antlions scurrying on the first floor, the wooden floor not making much to silence their steps as the battle upstairs rages on.

Jennifer slides another arrow casually into her string after she drops to the lower floor of the Inn. She looks around slowly, proceeding slightly forward towards the entrance of the Inn. As she does so, she slowly pulls back the string of her bow. As she scans about, she reaches down beside her, yanking an arrow with some form of carefulness to it out of the corpse of a downed antlion. She slides it away in her quiver, looking upwards into the surrounding storm. She scans specifically for any sign of danger, something that could really be a potential harm to the people hiding below. Then, something strikes her attention. A huge figure barrels across the hill, pushing through the winds, rain, and foliage.

Oh shit, shit, SHIT! It's guard! We got an antlion guard comin' straight for town!
