I have started to make maps in on Source SDK, I think I am doing alright for only playing around with it for 6 hours. This is what I have learnt:
Making skybox
Making houses
Making rivers/oceans/lakes
Adding dynamic lights
Making scenery
Blending the scenery
Adding static props to the maps
Adding hills/mountains
Add doors
I have a test world that I am playing around with that I have completely built up from nothing.

Looks like you've been learning a lot! Remember, stay committed if you want to learn. Don't give up because you think it's too hard or something like that. Hope I'll be able to see some work of yours in the future :)

If you ever find out how to import custom models into hammer you should share. I've been trying to find this out for the longest. I can only do custom textures.

Thanks for the advice, I am just starting with basic maps, like DarkRP maps. Then hopefull be moving on to HL2RP maps.
