And when was the last time we had an event? It's been a while...lets have one...Oh hey wait, admins seem to get demoted every damn time we have an event so lets scrap that.
This, is also very true. A friend of mine that became admin recently was demoted for holding an event. I believe that this is the wrong way of doing things, considering they probbly didn't even know they were doing anything else but making RP. (*cough* Hardly happens on HL2RP) I will say though that by, 'events' I mean PassiveRP events. Not zombie-helicopted-Earthquake shit either.
Communication How do you know? Do you have access to the admin section of the forums?
By communication, I mean how long it takes for the word of a new change to spread.When you hear an admin in OOC asking about why there is a change, it shows a lack of communication about the idea, while it could be discussed over on the fourms.
Canon- Canon is boring if it's all you stick to, and since there is no canon for certain rulings, it can become frustration. Immersion- I can agree on this, however, I only use OOC when people ask questions. A simple OOC limit rise would do, but people get pissy at that. Suggestions- They never get done because there is no HL2RP developer, or the suggestions are picky topics. Minges- I can't really say anything rather than that there will always be minges, there is no way to get around it. Guns- Not many people, in reality, have guns in D6. While Outlands has less than canon, IC weapons make up for this. Communication Between Admins- This is the only real thing I can agree upon. While I am not an admin myself, I cannot directly see the communication, however, I do talk to admins frequently, and can indirectly notice the poor communication.
Yes, but the server has screwed the canon in pratically every way. The only connection I can find is there are combine, citizens, and aliens. Besides that the whole canon is changed. And canon is suppose to be strict, thats what makes HL2RP HL2RP.
Minges could be easily avoided if admins and peeps took more steps to block it and actually TOOK THERE TIME to do it.
Walk into D6, and I see citizens with shotguns, this is just sad.
This, will be my final post on the Catalyst threads, and no, this is not a goodbye thread at all. But rather a thread stating all of the problems I have found in Catalyst Gaming, and HL2RP. Before I start, I would like to say that this is a MAJOR, flame. So beware, to all of you.

First, let me state that Catalyst Gaming is led on a screwed up system beyond belief. There have been many problems that have been going on SINCE LAST YEAR that have STILL NOT BEEN FIXED. What are these problems? Lets take a trip through them.
Canon, for God's sake, this is HL2RP, not fucking HLMade-upRP. We've gone so far form canon we could call it Cop-in-funny-uniform RP. Why couldn't CG just keep the ORIGONAL cannon for HL2? I mean FFS ITS EVEN IN THE NAME, HL2RP.
Next, is Immersion. We have NONE of it. OOC is filled with total shit, that who the hell cares about? I will once again state its HL2RP, NOT Lets-see-what-shits-in OOC time. Jesus, I join a fucking game just to get spammed by OOC. 'HURP DURP TURN OOC OFF' Well how can I talk to the person I'm RPing with if its needed? What if there is something important I need to hear? This brings me to my next object:
SUGGESTIONS NEVER GET FUCKING DONE. I have an old sugguestion with about 3-4 pages of supports. Its NEVER been done. It was a pretty simple one to, but nobody has taken the time to simply LOOK INTO IT and DO IT. And its not just because mine wasn't, it's been MANY others. Many good ones as well that are just forgotten, ones that people love but never get used.

Next on the list... Oh, COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ADMINS. Jesus Christ, there is NONE of that between you. You can't a gree on shit, such as the CCA. These, 'reforms' are no more than fucking name changes and be more citizen-like. Well have you EVER thought about it? Are ANY of the CCA's in HL2 even human at ALL? Yes, I will admit they are, but they aren't shaky-ass retards. I can understnad RCT's, but the combine would be FORCING the CCA to act much more cruel. And thats how it needs to, HL2RP is HL2RP. And none of you can seem to remember that.
Guns, these fucking guns. HOW are these people getting them? They're paying rofl money for them, thats how. And if ROFL GAVE EVEN A FUCK ABOUT HL2RP, HE WOULD NOT ALLOW PEOPLE TO DO THIS. Anybody with a summer job could afford to get this shit, and instead of attacking the REAL problem, we go cry over a HL2RP ban appeal or request. If anything, the OOC timer needs to go up. In my other communites, it was at least 300 seconds - OOC breaks immersion. In this case, people need to be forced into something that's good for them.
I have full support in this, because this is what happens ever day:

Just as airborne had said, applications are looked over well, followed by a background check and intreview into the CCA. And as I've heard from several people that check these apps, the process will now be much stricter.
Seriously, people need to stop whining about it as others have said above. One community of RPers I was apart of had an OOC limit of like, 400+ or so. You don't need OOC messages to live in HL2RP.
What sets CCA apart is that it takes a very long time to regain your post. Say my 01 was killed tomorrow because some lolrebel wanted to get my gun. There goes all the effort I placed in the application, all the effort I placed in joining ZEALOT, all the effort I placed in working my way up. As a rebel, you understand what you're getting into. Should you be killed, then it's on you. Rebel RP shouldn't be a safe haven, you should feel the threat of being killed at any moment. And unlike a Unit, you can be a rebel without anything prior (application ect..)
And assuming that all CCA would simply PK just because is immature. I don't take PKs lightly, and when I do kill someone ICly (and it's for something light, such as avoiding arrest or whatnot) I offer then the chance to be NLR'd. But if you're caught with a gun, or a knife. Then you know that you're placing your character on the line.
CCA units should also understand what they're getting into. A unit is just the same as any citizen, they're still a RPer, they're still a person, and they'll still have threats. So how is it fair that people who have worked even longer than some of these units, are allowed to lose there Character development, but not the CCA? There are some points where lolwebuls are a fail, and there are times where you may be taken hostage in some kind of instance and you'll go, "Wtf." But look at it this way - rebels get raided, they also have that unpredicability of getting PK'ed in a 10 second gunfight.
On another note, I do agree that NLR or TPK's would work better, the only thing is people don't like that for some reason. Maybe its because these units have never had there unit/great character PK'ed?

My character wishes to join the Combine for several reasons. One of these being that during his time in City 5, he had became brainwashed. (Please read the backstory for more detail.) Although just because of this, he still has a free will for himself. Choosing on his own, to join the CCA.
Secondly, my character wishes to join the Civil Authority because he is tired of having to eat these awful citizen rations. Like I have said above, just because he is brainwashed does not me he has opinions. He belives that the Union provides there units much better foods. Not only this, but will be provided a much better living environment to stay in.
Last, my character would like to join the Union because he feels that he needs to pay his debt off. This so called, 'debt' is about how he belives they have changed the world. He believes he owes them a mass ammount for taking care of the human race. Trying to show humanity social stabillity to the earth, ending all wars aginest each other.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy) My character can be considered a trustworthy person, as long as he can serve for the Union. Second, my character can be described as human. No, my character is not going to slip on a suit and become robo-cop. He is still a human, and can still make mistakes. Last, my character tries his best to be fair with his punishments. He doesn't randomly kill citizens for fun, and tries his best to avoid becoming that.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character. I expect the Combine Civil Authority to be a mixed experience for me and my character. I expect at some times to have some great RP coming from all the work in what happens. Even if it requires a cleaning rag, a mop, or stunstick. As long as it is a good and different type of RP, I would love to do it.
I also expect to have some less than fun tasks to deal with, Out of Character and In Character. One example would be minges. Yes, this is a small OOC reason why I would like to join the CCA as well. To help do my part in helping lower the minge population, although the main reasons are IC. I expect this to be no fun of a task, but a task that comes with the job.

The skies remained there dark, grey color as normal. Nothing but a depressing sight to see every day and every night. It had been a while since Malcolm had seen anything bright or cheery. 'Ever since the sky was torn a new asshole.' He would think to himself. He had just turned 30 a good long time ago, him and his soon-to-be wife going on a special vacation. Enjoying the beautiful sights of Europe. Those wonderful sights have dissapeared after it seemed hell had opened up. Releasing its foul contents apon the earth with such demons also known as the, 'head-humpers'. Malcolm, like many other people, took refuge in millitary-based camps. And nearly everything outside of them would have been over-ran or destoryed by now. So all that was left was here, in this small little camp.
Everybody inside had a task, Malcolm's was easy enough, helping to repair any broken down items. Mostly consisting of going back and forth between the generator, and anything that the guards needed. He enjoyed his task enough, and today was no different. Although, he felt as though somthing bad would happen. He couldn't quite place his finger on what though, it was hard for him to say. It didn't take long for him to realize it, but the Seven-Hour war would begin soon enough.
Malcolm had finally been able to take a break from his work, hoping that he could catch a breath, looking for a convient place to rest. He knew that his quarters wouldn't work, its so full of crying children, parents, and anybody inside. He did eventually find the place, the lounge. Maybe now he would finally be able to finish up anything else he has been doing before. He never felt as though he had the time for anything else other than work, work, work. He noticed there was a small bookshelf over by the left wall, containing inside a small selection of dusty old books. Malcolm found one that seemed appealing enough, sat back. And began to read.
Let me skip ahead to the future events here. The Combine had been able to attack the millitary defense during the Seven Hour war. First starting with dropping canisters all over there walls. The headcrabs attacking aimlessly at the guards. Although this did not do too much damage, the combine took a quick advantage by attacking them from the oppisite side. Quickly destorying through the make-shift defenses, the Combine rushed directly into millitary base, taking down all the guards by suprise. After that had fallen, the rest came the refugees. These, had already been running for there lives from the remaining headcrabs. Soon finding themselves a choice: stay with the headcrabs, or go with the combine. Malcolm had chosen the obvious one, the combine.
By the end of the next week or so, Malcolm hated trains more than anything. He was stuck on one of them for more than four hours. He was so happy to get off - only to find another train waiting for him at the other side. His second ride he has been on for over three hours. 'What takes so long?' Malcolm thought to himself. Studying his environment, he noticed only a few people on board. One being a female sitting beside him. She was about 5'6, brown hair, brown eyes, seemed pretty normal. A few seats down in front of him was a man, having a small grey appearance to his hair. Following with shaved beard, blue eyes, and a scar slicing all the down his cheek. Malcolm began to look down the rest of the train, before hearing the ring of a voice beside him. "Do you know... Where this train is going?" It was the woman beside him, that now didn't seem as much of a woman. She seemed pretty shy, and no more than the age of 21. "Well, uh, not exactly. All I know that its suppose to be the last ride til' the city we're going to." Maclcolm wasn't really sure what the say, he was still in shock from everything thats happened.

It's been about two months since the arrival at City Five. And Malcolm was standing on thin ice already. He's been a runaway from the City, hiding out on the edges of the Outlands until it would be safe for him to come back. Considering he faced many, many violation aginest the Union. He thought to himself it would be safe to return after a matter of weeks. Although he was wrong, very wrong. He was still at the top of the B.O.L. list, and as soon as he tried to return, he was taken under detainment and directly to the Division Leader that was avalible - NOVA for this instance. The Division Leader, deciding this was a perfect oppertunity, said that any 04's avalible will need to come to the Nexus for a little training. Malcolm, being held captive by at least three units, was scared to death. He knew this was the end for him, wasn't it? There was no way out, and the Union would never forgive him for-
Malcolm was hit in the back of the head with the butt of a handgun. Instantly falling to the floor unconcious, only to find himself awake in the middle of the street. What happened to him, he wasn't sure exactly. All he did was feel the back of his head, finding a bandage tightly wrapped around it. Also feeling gushy texture of the bloodied portions where he was struck. All he could think about where Union-friendly things, he didn't like the feeling of it, all the happiness inside of him. It made him sick, and he couldn't fight that feeling for a good while.
If you couldn't tell, Malcolm had been brainwashed for the only purpose of training a few NOVA units. Sometimes getting brainwashed can have several physcological effects on a person. He was never able to break free of the brainwashed control, and quickly went from Anti-Citizen to a loyaltist. After a couple of weeks, he was transported out of the City - just for good measure to make sure he doesn't change from his loyaltist state. This City, became known as City fourty-Five. Entering this city, he felt as if he had a second change. A second life for him, a new oppertunity to become a loyaltist and help the Union. He had a spark of interest in the Union, knowing that they had, 'fixed' him of his awful ways before. He soon sent in an application in hopes, hopes that he will become just like them. Hoping that doing this, will re-pay his debt to the Union, Dr. Breen, and the combine.
'Another casual day.' Malcolm thought to himself, sluggishly walking down the UCH hallway. Morning was coming soon, and he wanted to watch the sunrise from outside that day. He didn't exactly know why though, but he felt it would be an interesting change in his plans. He slowly took down the stairs one by one, going all the way down to the 1st floor. Opening the double-doors, the reflected sunlight making the Nexus look like heaven. He eventually tugged himself down to the park, laying back on a nice little bench he found. Staring in awe at the sunrise just over the edge of the earth, creeping up like a cat attacking a mouse. He then suddenly realized there was whispering in the dark alleyway behind him. Listening in on the quiet whispers, only to make out a few simple words. "The shipment is in apartment B3, get it."
Malcolm knew it couldn't be Union friendly, sending in a request over what he had just heard. Since his arrival at the City not too long ago, the units had found him as a reliable source of information. Understanding that this was most likely not a fake call from him, they sent in a squad to secure the B3 apartment. Not taking any chances at telling them to open the door, but shooting the lock open and throwing a flashbang inside. Noticing several screams coming out, the first one to clear the room yelled for them all to get on the ground. After everything was cleared, a total of 2 anti-citizens, 2 crates of illegal items, and 1 handgun had been removed. The unit that had origonally responded to Malcolm's call told him thanks for his great work in helping the Union. Malcolm was simply doing what he was suppose to, and got rewarded for it. Thats when he realized that this was the perfect oppertunity to ask for an application to join the Union. The unit replied to him, "Sure, I'll go get one, wait here."
Thats where we are now.

My old unit (can't even remember my own didgets) helped in a raid when we had the C8 map. The S2M fight we had under-ground was great. The rules mean no authorizations for weapons. Meaning they don't want 20 applications for a handgun and a box of ammo. As long as he actually has the weapon, its alright.
