Events / Re: City17_Industrial Map Event [SUGGESTION]
« on: March 19, 2013, 06:06:50 PM »
It's impossible altogether to have a lot of events without citizen herding in some form, but it's wholly dependent on the citizens to roleplay their situation, in times like this they become like cats, when they're suddenly contained, all they want to do is get out.

I don't think the CCA would be willing to let a bunch of civilians into the Nexus and give them free masks.
It's a creative idea, but it seems like it'll end up being a CCA heavy event.

This as well. Letting citizens into the nexus was a no-no since the last "Civil Administrator Mass-Interview Session" minievent went wrong, with some citizens lolrunning into elevators, trying to get in the armory, and falling down the access shaft to the CA's office and dieing.

Only three survived.

Usually events like these end up as "Herd all the citizens into a building and lock them in while the CCA handle the problem." while, being realistic and unavoidable, isn't very popular with citizens once they become bored of talking with each other or don't put the effort into passive RP.

Other than that it's an original idea and it sure hasn't been done before, and it would make sense to the "conserving oxygen" posters, and it will help keep interest and population in the server, so I think the benefits do outweigh.

I say do it, but don't draw it out too much.

I would support Sexy's revision of the auth as long as Mat doesn't go on a killing spree beyond reason, which I have no reason to think he would.

But, i don't know...the auths are abit...much? I think, but that's just me.

Yeah I agree on that as well, we had Amanda and her dozen auths rappelling and jumping from building to building and that was enough, and she didn't even have weapons.

Sure we can acknowledge that the movie existed ICly but I think the rule is more geared towards characters made to mimic or totally copy characters from said movies.

It would be sick if he could change it back to fire real cannons

What movie was the tank in?

Don't know about what was in which movie, but he worked on Congo, War and Rememberance, Tucker: The man and his dream, and War and Remembrance, all pretty old, 80s to 90s.

Does the tank work!!!???!!!??

That's crazy dude.

Full working order, hits fifty Mph, fastest tank in WW2. Only thing that doesn't work is the main gun. The coaxial and hull machine guns were converted to fire propane, for movie use.

All of these work in fact, he restores them, doesn't just collect. Everything I snap a picture of runs.

What he does sometimes is take the tank and the DUKW and dress them up for parades, he also mounts air cannons on them and shoots little bombs made of candy and toys.

EDIT: Also sorry for not getting more/better pictures of the interior, as I am about 6 foot three and it is especially difficult to maneuver as it is in a tank like that, which is meant for scouting and infantry support.

Last weekend I took a short drive over to the property of a friend of my great grandfather, I knew he had a tank but when he showed me around I found out he practically had an entire armored platoons worth of vehicles and memorabilia.

Starting with the souvenirs he brought back from Europe....

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2w6x9ie&s=6

Second picture sucks ass as I took all these with my phone. Its a belt of MG34 ammunition and a few gas masks with matching bags. The first has helmets and canteens, to the left of it would be a English helmet as well but it didn't fit in.

Now for the vehicles.

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=xm029e&s=6  This is a British post-WW2 Saracean APC, it runs but it isn't fully restored as far as painjobs and interior work goes.

Now we start with the M5A1 Stuart tank....

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2n6u15t&s=6 Rear View, opened hatches show the twin Cadillac engines.
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=j630ch&s=6 I hopped into the drivers seat, this is to the right.
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=15zhz6a&s=6 Another drivers seat photo, to the left.

Other stuph.
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2eoxhed&s=6 These are called Weasels, which are Amphibious army tractors, and he has about 6 of these in various makes and paintjobs.
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=ojq9m0&s=6 Another Weasel, this one sucks, I know.

http://i46.tinypic.com/ddyl5j.jpg He had 5 fully restored jeeps in he same shop as the stuart tank. Also behind it is a DUKW amphibious assualt boat. Funfax, when he first got it, he fitted it with a PA system, lights, and decorations and took it out for parties in a Delta near Stockton.

Stuff I forgot/wasn't able to photograph:

A working M2 Machine gun, can fire both real rounds and propane, may have been used in some movies he worked with.
More of the DUKW boat.
Collection of M1 garands.
"Unicef" painted jeep used in the movie "Congo"

Mug cp with your friends for cool kevlar :-)

This isn't spam, Yak.

Also, to put things in perspective, the events of either server take place approximately 5 years before the arrival of Gordon Freeman and the resistance Uprising.
