IC Character Name: Ivan Antonov
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.As said through my Backstory, Ivan is heavily Law and Government Orientated. His father being that of a military man, his Grandfather being a soldier in WWII and his long line of family of either Government Officials or Soldiers. Ivan himself being brought up this way is obviously towards such a path. The fact that the UU and CCA also contributes to some beliefs he previously had beforehand, only increases his wanting to join the CCA.
Now as time went by, he obviously increased on this due to multiple movements between city and the famous Breen Water. This only made the natural brainwashing of the UU and CCA propaganda increase along with the variable that Ivan himself wanted a government to follow. The UU, a great strong city state was exactly what he wanted. The Combine granted this and he was grateful, more then grateful. As he continued his life in the city he watched, listened, and learned.
One thing he learned quickly was that the CCA were indefinitely in control. Rebels not only believing in stupid idiotic ideals, but following them to their death? Ivan was loyal, but not loyal to die for nothing. He wanted to impress his father, fight for a reason and provide the greater good of man. He went for and chose CCA, the only true power that he knew and thought he understood.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)Ivan is an incredibly Law oriented citizen. The greater good would be the closest thing to his Motto, if it assisted two other then one he'd pick it. Although caring of his fellow comrades, if they proved to be against the Union, it would be a different opinion.
Overall:
Lawful, City State Orientated, Stern and Militaristic and Partially Simple Minded.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.I'm personally expecting some of the better roleplay out of the CCA out of the other faction/opportunitys on the server. In multiple communities before I've played as the CP or The Combine and I miss the roleplay. Plus, the roleplay a brainwashed unit thinking everything he's doing just about is for the greater good is very fun to roleplay. So I hope this indeed will be some of the better RP, or so I hope.
Now what my character ICly expects is that he thinks it's his responsabillity. Due to the fact of his father and early lack of mother, he believes he should be the man working for the people and assisting the common man. This is only assisted by former Communist based believes in which a sense, the CCA holds some of the views, while opposing others...but of course a slightly brain washed propaganda issued partially simple minded citizen wouldn't mind.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.There wasn’t much to say about the man. To many, Ivan was an enigma, and there was hardly anything to gather from him. To that extent, many perceived him as simpleminded. Such an idea was true in some cases, as he proved from an early age that he was a loyal citizen of Ukraine. Like many in his country, he was not blessed with a carefree childhood. He had no mother from the day of his birth, having lost her due to childbirth complications. This posed a problem for the newborn, as well as the hospital staff. It was unlikely that the father could care for the baby on his own, but yet, even some people can rise above low expectations.
Ivan’s father was a militaristic man, proud and noble yet loving. He quit his job in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, devoting himself to caring for his only son Ivan. From his single-parent upbringing, the young Ivan learned the values necessary to survive in this insane world of ours. Values like honor, respect, and above all loyalty to his commanding figure. He became a bright child despite never affording the best of education at one of the more poor public schools. One of the things he also did was assist his father due to the lack of mother. This would include a small liquor store in the slums owned by the family which Ivan worked at as the clerk. Because of his lifestyle, and partially due to this militaristic cut-throat father, he grew up doing what was best for everyone, never complaining. He was raised that way and that was how he was supposed to act.
It was when he was considering a career in security for a possible gateway in the Ukraine Army did the portal storms erupt, disrupting many aspects of his life like it did to everyone. During the Seven Hour war he merely watched as his land was taken. Obviously having a small bit of resentment, he quickly found interest in them. He watched with such cohesion as they essentially took over the Earth in seven hours with over powering force and brilliant tactics.
As time passed and the Combine appeared, he adjusted to the new lifestyle as best as he could, taking orders from the men in their suits and gasmasks and dealing with the fact his father and friends were seperated. Despite the fear and anger many others felt over the situation, Ivan found himself drawn to the metropolice unit. It was as if his father’s teaching and demeanor calling him to join, luring him to pursue his aspirations and take up a stunstick for the greater man, for his city state. The CCA protected the people, and they continuously restated their idea that they were doing all that they did for the greater good. This military controlling faction was to be respected, and Ivan decided he would pursue a life in their ranks, only to help out his fellowman and comrades. Of course the rapid migrations, Breen water consumption and propaganda only assisted his choice.
- Side note. I have some thing where it's hard for me to write/formulate sentences via paper or text (something like dsylexia idfk). To me it still isn't an excuse so if there is a mere hint of doubt, give me the opportunity for a one on one interview of some sort.

What�s your most memorable quality RP experience?Was Mobius, a now no longer HL2RP community..but it was heavy event where the city had headcrab canisters malfunction and Manhacks incorrectly programmed resulting in catastrophic event on city, everything around it, etc. Huge panic, running in houses all that fun stuff. Saved a CA and got to deal with the cleaning up afterwards as a Brookyln dude named Frankie. Twas fun.
Second was a huge ass epic campaign on SST RP.
