True. And I'm going to do just that. No matter what happens, this will most likely be my last post on Catalyst Gaming. If I ever return to CG, I'll be seriously inactive. Like, 2-3 hours a week. As stated, I have work to do.

Bye all.

2
Sheesh, you guys are trolls. Shoulda' left sooner. Final word, I have one now and that's why I'm still here. No offense Rofl, but the posts that you made really don't give you the good community owner picture. Makes you look more like just another player. Acting like an administrator is what you should be doing, not starting a mass-quote-spam.

3
I need spend no more time on Catalyst Gaming. I bid you all goodbye.

4
Apologies, Rofl. I didn't see absolutely every rule of the site, one by one memorized. Go ahead and lock it, didn't hear about a rule stating not to make goodbye threads on quitting. Final word: Oh, wait. I don't even need a final word. Pfft.

5
Second main reason, I said. First main reason is I don't have a character to play on. Oh, no offense rofl but that is an example. Included in the first main reason is that I was already planning to quit as I have to start working much, much more. No joke. I disconnected because I didn't have another reason to stay. Cow, you are the biggest example of trolling and flame I have ever seen in my entire life. This is the worst goodbye I've ever gotten, and is only encouraging me to hate more of you.  I don't care whether I was OWR'ed or not, and you should stop acting like a 6 year old and move on yourself. I don't see why I didn't quit sooner or just quit without a goodbye because I'm sick of this. You people are like DarkRP players. Seriously.

Half-Life 2 Roleplay / A goodbye, a depart, and a hint of flame.
« on: May 15, 2012, 07:30:52 PM »
Peoples of Catalyst Gaming. Eventually the time had to come. I've been planning to quit Catalyst Gaming, and today is that certain day. 036 is PK'ed, the mug-spam has been moved to single-player. As ye all have been wondering if you've read this far, 036 was OOCly PK'ed over the mug-throwing. I'm moving my hour or two of Garry's Mod each day to single-player as the only roleplay server that actually facilitates roleplay has had 718 PK 036, it was the perfect opportunity to quit.. It's goodbye, mostly directed at 121, 999, 226, 270, 717, 718, 298, 192, and all the rest of yeh. So, have a good one, as a roleplayer of Catalyst Gaming's time has come at last. I could have quit anyway, but with the ridiculously slin chance that I may return, I'd like to keep my whitelist if I EVER care to waste another 3 weeks on my application, four months as a unit... So I'll have a chance at a new CCA character. Well, that's generally it. Bye all. CG was good while it lasted.
Peace out, who needs formalities,

Zaughi

(Oh, by the way. The PK was OOC over OOC matters, please don't use this post as a battlefield for a flame war, it's un-needed and flame/mingebags was the second most important reason I quit. Plus, an anti-thanks to: 012 (Troll) Victor (Something name) (Flaming) 718, (Being too tough even for a DvL), 999, (This would never have even happened if I didn't save your life during the sweep) Nick Jackson, (Kick-starting the medbay-streak), All the rest of you minges, trolls, flamers, failRPers, the like of such) Oh, and 298. Thanks for trying to stand up for me at the meeting OOCly before my PK. It is truly appreciated.

Half-Life 2 Roleplay / Re: New OOC time?

This reply is a test. It absolutely means nothing, remove it whenever. This isn't so I can get into the CCA, I've already got more than enough posts and I've already got a CCA character. So, generally, I don't care about this reply because I'm testing signature images. So no epic troll flame.

Name: C45.CCA.JURY-04.036 (Zaughi Smith)
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Affiliation: CCA

Write a detailed in-canon back-story how your character obtained these authorizations.
It was a Thursday night. It was all quiet and pitch-black. The citizens were all in their apartments, sleeping. C45.CCA.JURY-04.036 was getting tired, but he dared not sleep for Standard Directives wouldn't be fulfilled that night. They would be if there were units around but they were all 10-7, sleeping. A 02, and two 03 units were awake and fulfilling standard directives outside. The RCT that HAD been awake at the time, but he fell asleep in the break room. There was an OfC unit, who was also in the Nexus.

There was almost five feet of visibility outside, even with my facemask. I asked the 02 about it and he allowed me to have his extra NVG set. The NVG set was two facemask-shaped lenses that seemed to fit right over the eyes on the light variant. He gave me instructions on implanting them so I got to work quickly. As the 02 was VICE, he assisted me in implanting the Night-Vision optics into my facemask. We fused the circular optics into the two eye-holes in the mask, they fit quite well.

After about an hour of fusing, we were done. I donned the newly fused NVG mask, and slid open the airlock door, revealing a greenish outside. The plaza appeared so different at night, especially at midnight. Thirty minutes passed of patrolling outside, I began to pause every ten or so steps, I knew I heard something at the time. After doing this for fifteen minutes straight I eventually got used to it.

Well, that was until I saw them. About eight to eleven citizens, some even wielding pipes. The three units and I gathered at the Nexus steps to assess the possible threat. The citizens advanced, unfearful. They eventually stopped when they reached the area between the Union Civil Housing and the plaza monument.

The 02 commanded us to get inside, him following in last. We all kept our eyes on the mob of citizens as we entered the Nexus. The 02 told us to meet him in the armory, he inquired that it could be a possible riot and it needed to be contained before they could cause any real damage. He left the armory and went down to speak with an OfC. She opened the armory and brought out four packages of VICE Riot gear. Included was a riot shield, really. Plus four VICE-Riot Kevlar vests. We got into them, the first 03 saying: "Those jokers are gonna laugh at us if we go out wearing this". But there was no laughter.

We arrived at the Nexus steps with a suprise. The citizens had left the plaza, and were standing around the District 2 Hardpoint. We confronted them at the Hardpoint, trying to speak some reason into them. The moment we reached them, they ran at us, pipes raised. All four of us stepped backwards, shields infront of us. The citizens charged forward, whacking their pipes against our riot shields, to little avail. They eventually pushed us back to the Nexus exterior and behind the barricades, and ran to the UCH, possibly to hide in the apartment buildings.

It was quite dark, and we couldn't see them well in the windows, so the 02 and OfC brought out an optical set. The 02 said that "The younger the unit, the sharper his eye". They handed me the items, telling me to use the scope like a pair of binoculars to identify the citizens in the windows and use the AVP to survey the top windows and get a closer view. (OOC James (Some last name I forgot) "Lol, you guys suck. You arent even coming to the UCH.", I looked through the scope to be presented with a blu-ish view, but I was able to see the citizens in the windows, shoving other citizens out and taking the apartments for themselves. I reported this to the OfC and she
decided to clamp the UCH (No metagame intended)

The citizens were a step ahead of us, they rushed from the UCH, vaulting over the railing, not caring that we were on the stairs. We tried to counter this by blocking the doors of the UCH, resulting in being able to detain six out of eleven citizens. The rest had escaped to District 6, but we had captured more than half of them and done our duty for the Union. The OfC said to store the riot equipment excluding the Kevlar in my unit's equipment locker. I was told to only use the riot shield for emergency purposes, such as a riot.

The night ended well for C45.CCA.JURY-04.036. Had he... Oh forget it. It's not like he called down the godly lightning on forty anti-citizens and the entire Resistance of Sector Six, but at least he had done SOMETHING, although these uprisings happen every week anyway.

What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?
Perks
Better riot-control techniques
Enhanced accuracy using the precision set given by the OfC unit.

Defects
Lower mobility when in-use, meaning I will be unable to move quickly. A counter-measure for this is using the light variant of the Kevlar. I will be unable to use them until promotion to 03.

What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?
Riot Control after promotion to 03 and placed into division VICE. (Will only be used when necessary until promotion)

Will anyone else need these auths? (If so, list OOC and IC name(s))
No.

Which server does this apply for?
City

Extra Notes (optional):
The citizens only attacked once, and they were convicted of level two verdicts. Absolutely no citizens recieved a level one verdict and the leader was not caught.

Mapping / Re: Massive Project

Grammatical issue, I'm typing fast. Here's a revised version, bud: "Okay, this is going to be my first open map, so I'm making it half the size of the Hammer grid but on the origin of the grid and in a square fashion." Happy now?

I see that most fail applications don't get accepted. But we DO have a minge problem. Just last night, a super mingebag named "Ryan Brown" terrorized the server, DC'ed out to avoid administrators, messed with units, failed to respond to verdicts, trespassing whenever he could, speaking every possible OOC word IC, lol, omg, noob, the like. Metagaming, powergaming (A unit shot him in the leg, failed to RP it), as said no painRP, no fearRP, no RP whatsoever, mingegrabbing, bunny hopping around, it was ridiculous. His list goes on and on. He may be a really bad minge, but there are PLENTY more out there who probably act just like him. Although that was slightly off-topic, I've been reviewing applications and have noticed a larger number are being denied than when I saw on the day I posted this.

Mapping / Re: Massive Project
« on: April 30, 2012, 02:33:58 PM »
I've done a few semi-linear maps before. This is just my first big, open project. And I absolutely understand RSO's, so this is probably going to be built upon single-player. Maps like OuterCanals are incredibly noded plus the maps in HL2. I think I can node this too if I make it slightly linear. I'm going to tone it down a little. I'm only working on making the spawn point look good right now. As I said, this will take time. OuterCanals is huge, and I've played on it with no lag whatsoever. Also think map size like GM_Valley and Gm_Atomic. That size or a bit bigger. Hammer, as I've noticed on my draft project, really CAN'T hold it, so you guys were kind of right. But on the bright side, I can still include almost everything else. Except the trains and boats. I decided it won't be fun in singleplayer unless I build them myself in-game. The Citadel, because I don't have HL2, I cannot do. Maybe as a 3D skybox counterpart. I'll have the rest set up, thanks for the feedback on the plan. I'm working on the ACTUAL PROJECT now, the draft for the smaller version is half-complete.

Half-Life 2 Roleplay / Fail CCA Applications (Contains Flaming)
« on: April 30, 2012, 02:23:21 PM »
I was looking at a few CCA apps, and I've found a couple that are completely ridiculous. Aston Ashmoon's, for example. I can't even explain it. You have to see it.

People just think they take one trip to the forums (No posts or time on the forum, I've seen one from a player who has been on the forums for two days, the rest lie)., make an application with no roleplay or thought or even story into it, and simply fail. They think it's only a little different than "DarkRP" and they just type /votecop and POOF!!! They become a "cop".

I've seen a lot of great applications, but we gotta be much more strict with it. Really. I've seen so many fail applications, and one or two have even been accepted. The grammar and punctuation on some is bad, liars, people that think HL2RP is the same as DarkRP, the like. And the best part? Some people RP great up to 05 or whenever they find and/or get their hands on a gun. Mass RDM spree. Tarnishes the server's reputation and ruins great RP.
I think something needs to be done about it. Both fail CCA apps and minges in general.

Mapping / Massive Project
« on: April 27, 2012, 01:23:37 PM »
Okay. This will be my first map, so I'm making it as big as Hammer allows. This is also a request, is you're like Statua or one of those great mappers that I bow to, I could use some help on this project. It's going to be called possibly RP_City84 (Which will be the same thing without the nodes and building areas) or GM_(Something). I'm learning from YouTube, learning for a month or two now. Please no flame like: It's Impossible, or lolnoob u caut mak dis leywel so here's what's gonna be on it or MAY be on it...
Plans for the map:
Fully NPC noded (Rapelling Nodes, Air Nodes, Ground Nodes, Radio Nodes)
Massive Landscape
Lots of Extra Detail
Mountains/Cliffs
Medium Private Building Areas (MPBA)
Roads
High 3D Skybox
Bay/Sea-like thingy, a lake or two, maybe a river with working current if I can learn about that.
Repeating terrain (With boundaries, of course)

Plans for the City:
Gate leading to exterior world space,
6 Districts or Sectors,
Over 40 buildings
Apartments
Also fully noded
Nexus
Citadel(Maybe)
Exterior warspace at City Gates (So you can do Resistance-versus-Combine deathmatches)
Thumpers
Electricity System
Canals/Outer Canals, working crane included
Train and Boats (Teach me about func_move or whatever and it's possible, PLEASE!)

So... This probably will require an Alienware-grade computer. But oh well. I'm gonna work on it anyway. It will probably take 4 months to a year, but it'll still be fun to make. Please leave suggestions and help in the replies, no flame wars, and thank you for reading.

Half-Life 2 Roleplay / Re: Beginning a New Form of Resistance RP
« on: April 26, 2012, 11:13:33 AM »
Yeah. I agree that unit kills shouldn't always be PK's, just NLR and TPK, PK only when it is accepted by the killer and the player. I play 036, so I know how you guys feel. Oh, just a heads up. "Reaper Zero", or the Resistance Movement leader, was killed in the UCH. He was slitting the throat of a traitor, Bill Lector, and the whole sector came in and killed me. (Injured three units on my way down with knives by throwing them, used my main knife to stab a 02, 702 took two throwing knives and 212 was also injured). They put like, 7-10 bullets into me so...
Spoiler for Hiden:
Yeah. Now I gotta do a follow-up character for the position of The Reaper of The Black Infinitium (Resistance Movement High-Rankers). He's gonna be "Reaper Six". I also will be recruiting "The Hand", "The Swift" "The Annihilator", but Reaper is mine. Reaper = Killing the Union members, Loyalists included, The Hand = Propaganda/Recruitment, The Annihilator = Destruction of Union property, The Swift = The Messenger. If your characters have these qualities, sign up for the Black Infinitium in the IC Chat section. If you just want to resist the grasp of the Combine, join up. The group is also going to the Outlands... Eventually.
