For others, they mean obstacles that must be overcome.
But for most, these words are unspoken, for fear of a stun baton to the head.
The resistance is a group of citizens like me and you, the prime difference being that we have devoted our lives fully to our cause, and are intelligent about it. We also spend very little time in the plaza, because there's no larger center of Union attention than the plaza.
Some basic information about The Resistance•We don't like the Universal Union
•We don't run around with SMGs "shooting cops"
•We generally keep to ourselves
•We are an underground organization
•You do NOT get a gun as a sign on bonus
•We are not a custom class
Becoming a Rebel•You must be experienced in RP
•You must be willing to sacrifice
•You must have a reason to be rebellious
Things to avoid•Do not walk around asking about the Resistance. We will come to you.
•Do not walk around punching MPF officers because "it's what the rebels do".
•Do not ask for a firearm. Guns don't make for good RP
•Do not easily place your trust in people. There are people out to kill us.
"Wait, but how do we join?"Joining the resistance is not an easy task.
In fact, often times, most citizens who want to join are spurned.

Remember the scene where Tyler has the applicants stand outside for days?
We can do that too.
Don't get discouraged if you're turned down. If you're willing to fight, you'll do what you have to.
But that doesn't mean to get persistent, because some of the people we hate the most are the ones who bother us constantly.

Daniel, a new Rebel has just been allowed into the Resistance HQ.

Two citizens are in the lobby of the 45th apartments.
James says, "So, how about that weather?"
Mark says, "Do you know where the Resistance meets?"
A citizen notices a shady looking building
Derek approaches the building.
Derek yells, "Please, let me in!"
Derek begins to camp outside the door.

The citizen takes something small and metallic from his pocket.
He begins to use the metal object on a wall.
The citizen steps back and admires his freshly painted graffiti on the wall, then runs away.
The Dispatch calls out that rations are now available.
Nicholas, not placing his trust in the Universal Union, does not eat rations.
Nicholas may go hungry, but it's better than falling into the Union trap.
Two resistance members are talking together in an apartment in the slums.
A city scanner flies by the window, but returns and looks inside.
The two rebels quickly run outside with the scanner in pursuit.
One of the rebels picks up a rock and throws it, trying to hit the scanner.
The scanner is hit right in the lens and sparks fly through the air as it crashes to the ground.
