He believes - and knows that the Union is indeed powerful. Malcom respects almost all that the Union stands for - peace on earth, control, safety - but questions some of the Unions 'other' motives. Malcom is a man of morals, and as such has been feeling the stress of having to kill innocent men and women for little to no reason.

Edward cares about only one person in his life - and that's him. Considering that most if not all of his family are most likely dead, he always has a gloomy sense around him about it, althought this could just be something he made up to make people stay away from him. He doesn't like social interaction as much as anyone else would, and isn't as bothered by the concept of loneliness. Edward entered the CAB to ensure an easier life for himself, and so far, it's working.
