A very minor issue but, I want to download the map for HL2RP on the CG downloads page
Unfortunately all 3 links turn up a 404 not found
Have I missed something?

Hello guys, it's Dood again
It's been a long holiday hasn't it?

I assume most of you have forgotten me, and I cannot blame you at all but my life has been encroaching on my free time, what with exams schoolwork and all manners of hell raining on my life
I think now though, at least over the holidays, I will have a lot more free time on my hands and I should be able to get re-aquainted with my favourite gaming community

Also a quick note:
The City 45 Conspiracy - AKA The dead thread, the story is officially dead and gone it seems and i think we've all accepted it won't be an event as many of the readers wanted
But I refuse to leave the story without an ending, I will finish it in my own way

I came up with an idea which started out as a bit of a joke, but then I started wondering to myself
"What if i took this seriously?" And I developed this idea which though still crazy and stupid, became a very fun and interesting idea to develop and further.

A version of HL2RP based on a rebellion
The basic setting:
A city somewhere on earth a rebellion uprising has begun and now the city is locked in a damn near endless war between the combine and rebels vying for control of the war torn city.
Players can be rebels or combine and work in teams to fight over control of the city

The battle:
Both teams must traverse the city and battle for control over key areas, like control points which results in battles where the teams must stand on the point until it becomes theirs, and there are multiple control points all over the map which will work as little objectives to make the fighting meaningful, not just a minge paradise

Flaw:It's not RP
FIX: For the spawn areas of each team as well as other areas, there is anti-pvp and the enemy team can't get in. In this area roleplay can become the main aspect and passive roleplay can be enjoyed
Flaw: Unfair teams, domination
Fix: Perhaps each team gets boosts when outnumbered?
Flaw: New players, how will they adapt if they're getting shot?
Fix: Perhaps new players are granted immunity but no weapons and using this they can explore the city on their own and adapt, and also train with their faction for roleplay and learning. Then when they're ready they loose immunity and gain weapons,a sort of "training wheels" system
Flaw: Spawn killing
Fix: Mr banhammer

As for the feeling of accomplishment I was thinking that every so often as an event perhaps the main bases would be open to attack so that the teams can attack and take control of an enemy base ultimately resulting in victory for one team which would earn them a prize, right before the map restarts to begin the war anew.

While this is a fun little discussion where our heads can run wild, don't worry, I don't expect this to become a gamemode
Feel free to discuss and suggest things for flaw fixes or point out flaws and we can add to this perhaps making it seem more pro or just let our imaginations go crazy thinking we're actually designing a gamemode

Just got home from watching the film
I have to say it was really good, exceeding ym expectations in the very least
Good humor every now and again, gripping story and the action sequences are truely great

Every Time I join OCRP it comes up with the "hl2.exe has stopped working" message
It only seems to happen on OCRP, I'm looking into the other details to add
plz help, i really wwanna be on orange cosmos and this stupid little bug has kept me away for over a week!

The city 18 conspiracy in game event is a-go!
However, if the roleplay is going to work we're going to need people who can work as actors for the series, we only need a handful to be honest but a few nonetheless

Actors will need
To be sensible and stay in roleplay
To be able to kjeep the plot to themselves, we don't want spoilers of any kind

Actors will get
POSSIBLY Powers or whitelists for the event, Yankee will decide that
Early spoilers of the city 18 plot and ending, so be sure you can handle a secret
The chance to play through the roleplay as a villain or world actor, but usually only for a few moments
After you have acted your part there is nothing stopping you from joining in the event with the other players discovering the storyline along with them and joining the fun
Just don't spoil it (We may not give full storyline details if the part doesn't ask for it)

If there is anything else you need to be notifed of me and Yankee Samurai will be watching over this thread

Of the actors we need some are:
The combine who alert the CCH during the exogen breach, this can be more than one person
The complaining citizen reporting the 'mysterious man' in sector 6
The combine adressing that citizen
The Mysterious man in sector 6

I've been with catalyst gamign a while so this isn't really a first introduction, but I thought I may as well do this
You may already Know Me as UNIFORM.RCT.021 or the brains behind the City 45 Conspiracy series I've been doing in the IC Chat section

Thats basically all you need to know right now, other than I am exactly what it says in my signature
I'm pretty terrible at games but I play them for fun and that's all that matters
But I'd like to think I'm an excellent roleplayer, mainly because it doesnt involve trying to get the most kills
