Denied Suggestions / Re: New Police Car Models
« on: May 13, 2013, 11:26:08 AM »
Lately I have been talking with a guy named SentryGunMan, creator of WAC helicopters and planes and many other vehicles. He has a police car that we are going to make a suggestion about. Perfect model, HD. Great sounds and whatnot. We will also be suggesting a Jeep Wrangler in that thread.
Anyway, be patient. We will have the thread up soon and you will see that this police car will be a lot better than any before.

TL;DR Sherman

SWAT are used for special situations like bomb threats, hostage situations, etc. SS are to protect the mayor. Police are to protect the public. And SWAT are to eliminate threats. That should and WILL never change.

Agreed. What we have now is great and good for RP. I do not want to see that change.

Suggestions / Re: /a Stuck/Respawn

I don't really agree with this suggestion. I used to have a similar standpoint, but its too easy to abuse. People already break fearRP rules and disconnect to avoid stuff, this would just give them another way. Admins usually respond to me when I'm stuck, I've never really had to wait for an incredibly long period of time.

FearRP not so much. I said that something with a timer should be above their heads and a mugger could simply punch them or something. And I have been stuck many times and had to rejoin because there were no administrators or they weren't listening to the /a.

And just call an admin if someone did use it. Besides, like I said before raids wouldn't really help them that much. You can still just as easily save you stuff without it as you can with this command.

This is not going to happen. Like people have mentioned, this is to easy to abuse, to get out of a situation like a raid, or police chase.

There's always been a command called ocrp2_respawnme. It only works if you are stuck out of the map btw.

Re-read what I said in my posts. If theres a time above them they cannot really evade much. Plus they cannot move, if they are being chased they have to move.

RAIDS WILL NOT BE DIFFERENT. How does it help them in any way? There is still a timer on stuff growing. So you have to defend it. And if you are worried about being arrested after you collected your stuff then even without it they can get out. Cops don't know who is who in a house. Therefore they aren't arrested unless they are the owner and the police found that out in some way. Which is usually when that person complains that it is obvious.

I like the idea, I just feel that people will use it in raid situations where the raider keeps breaking lockpicks/takes more than 20 seconds to break in. You could pack up and respawn before the raider gets in.

Well it takes time for stuff to grow, they can respawn and pack some shrooms up but if they just placed Weed then they have to wait/defend it. And even without this they can still pack up as the raider is trying to get in and then just let themselves die and have the stuff in their inventory. So in the Civilian raiding Civilian occasion it wouldn't really benefit them much. And in all situations involving a raid with police or civilians an admin can still do something about it because they cheated to escape.

Suggestions / Re: Hostage Rope
« on: May 12, 2013, 10:37:44 PM »
Maybe have it to where it takes 10 seconds to apply, and if you move, it breaks the attempt? Obviously you couldn't do that in a real hostage situation, because you'd be at gunpoint and have to follow fearRP. But if you're in public and someone just runs up and tries it, you could easily just move an inch. You could also call an admin as well..

EDIT: Damnit, didn't read Jake's post. But yeah, lol...

Good idea Lone. Maybe not ten but something like that.

The only thing with this idea is that if it is cheap enough I am positive that some *** is going to come on and tie a bunch of AFK people and people who are simply talking and not moving. So something needs to be done for that.

Also police need to have a way to undo the ties. When they release a hostage they may come out still tied and well...they need to be untied haha.

Suggestions / /a Stuck/Respawn
« on: May 12, 2013, 10:34:23 PM »
I wanted to suggest a simple idea, easy to code (Experience) to help people who get stuck. It happens all the time and people just say "/a Help I am stuck." An administrator comes (Sometimes) and helps them and they go on their way. But after doing that for a while I would imagine that it is frustrating after a while.

So why not make it so that when you type either /a Stuck or /a Respawn it doesn't necessarily go to the administrators but it shows a hint that says in ten seconds or twenty or whatever you will be respawned. Maybe 15 at least because if someone does that then they may want to holster their stuff if they haven't and some weapons take ten seconds to do (ARs and Shotguns).

Very simple and basic yet useful. If there are unresponsive/no administrators available it would be helpful to them, and to administrators who simply don't want to deal with a "/a Help I am stuck!" all the time.

Also during the 10-20 second period that you wait, you cannot move (You can turn, although I don't think it counts as moving anyway) or do any kind of action. If you do, it is canceled. And that is how you can cancel it if something happens. But the main reason is for people evading RP. I would imagine this would be used by people trying to escape situations.

But even that timer isn't enough to stop some people, so just as a little extra so people know that the person they are interacting with is respawning is to have a Red text above their head saying,"Respawning in ##."

One last thing to add, people in prison shouldn't be able to use /a Stuck /a Respawn.

So that is my idea, very simple and it would be a useful tool for pretty much everyone.

Post if you agree/disagree. Not sure what reasons there are to not have it so please post them.

Denied Suggestions / Re: SWAT... what is the point?
« on: May 12, 2013, 10:17:15 PM »
Not at all.....

I am chief quite often and I promote and demote SWAT all the time. The point of SWAT is to have armored units with heavy weapons to raid a place which could cost lives. I try to organize them and when we raid I try to stay quiet until we move in all together. SWAT is a necessity for good raids with the least amount of lives lost. Once the raid is over I demote every SWAT except for one who volunteers to stay, and I tell the others to go to the NPC again and become SWAT.
However that does waste money so I am in favor of SWAT being cheaper to promote.
BUT HELL NO to a SWAT NPC. If there is one thing that frustrates me it is SWAT running around like they are cops, which they do anyway. If anything should happen to increase the number of SWAT around the Mayor should be able to promote them as well. And then there would be limits to the number which would just make the raids an ultimate failure. I love the way I RP raids. Get proof, keep radio on a down low, tell SWAT the plan and get ready to move in lightning fast and clear it out as quickly and safely as possible. We don't need random people running around just destroying RP because there they can.
The system we have now is beautiful. For there to be SWAT the mayor has to appoint someone they like to be chief and that chief promotes people they like and trust will do their job.

Also they aren't supposed to be "interesting to play," tell me now. In real life do you see SWAT officers on duty walking around or acting as police? No. And along with that what could they possibly do? Nothing. They are there for a certain job and once it is over they go back to being a cop to do the less intense stuff because there is nothing like a raid going on. When there is another raid, SWAT are promoted again.

Reason I am so harsh is because I really REALLY dislike this idea, it would just make being chief/cop/swat a bad job. Which I love to do  :(
Don't want my game ruined haha.

FYI, SS don't really replace SWAT. SWAT aren't supposed to protect the mayor unless the mayor is under attack. And in that case the SS are with the mayor and raiders are outside the door trying to get in, SWAT come from behind with their armor like SS has to clear it out. They are both necessary for the Mayor's protection. But if he isn't under attack, its not their job to be extra SS.

Suggestions / Re: Higher prop limit allowed in homes.
« on: May 11, 2013, 11:17:28 PM »
No. Having 100 props in 1 house causes major lag.
Even though I support passive RP, having unlimited props is fucking stupid.

Besides, you dont need unlimited props to RP.

<::[[ Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S2 using Tapatalk 2 ]]::>

He didn't say 100 props....maybe 15-20 or something is what he meant. We talked about it earlier. And it DOES NOT cause lag. People need to learn that frozen stuff DOES NOT MAKE LAG. Only unfrozen stuff is, and if you have props spawned most of the time they are unfrozen.

I ++++++++Support this for 15-20 props. Its ridiculously low.

TDM Mini too :D

Yea that would be nice.

Thing is will all of these cars and whatnot, itl take some time before they get added/replaced. It takes a lot of time to rework the cars and whatnot.
Also gona make a big suggestion for the jeep wrangler and Sentrygunman's Police car. We need a Jeep since its the only vehicle type not in game and his police car is badass.
http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=showimg&v=132894_1 (Jeep is on left)
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=144451315 (Sentrygunman's police car)

Please don't add the Jeep to the list. There will be an entire thread about it and the Police car.

Suggestions / Re: Gas Cans.
« on: May 10, 2013, 01:02:37 PM »
No.

It was removed for a reason so you actually have to watch your fuel level rather than getting out, no rp at all and filling up from magical 300 cans.
Not going to happen.

Completely realistic to have gas cans. When I go off-roading with my jeep I bring a five gallon jerry can on the back. And there is no 300 cans if you make it actually weight something, It weights a lot then people cannot really fully fuel their vehicle.

Also, I like that idea (above). Only one jerry can in your inventory. But you have it, you should be able to use it if there is no tow truck driver.

« on: May 09, 2013, 10:49:08 PM »
Agreed Reflex. It is RP like to be able to get gas cans. My only problem is the weight, they do not weight enough and they should weigh a decent amount (5-10) so people don't have a lot of them. Also it should fill maybe ten percent I think, that is enough. And the price should be doubled or close to double the cost of gas at the pumps.
Another thing to add, an NPC at the BP by the suburbs would be nice, sells some basic stuff like at the BP in tow.

It's not real life.

And, again, it would only frustrate people. It is a neat idea but I see no good reason to add it. Economy can do fine with a good force and mayor. And if they get a permit there has to be a way to revoke it, so how will that happen.

Suggestions / Re: Rule suggestion, for Admin sake
« on: May 08, 2013, 02:06:25 PM »
If people act like idiots in requests and stuff I normally leave them for a bit anyway

You do realize that Kronic is looking out for admins not responding to calls.

By the way people who walk away are more of a "man" than those who feel the need to stay and resist.  ;)

Suggestions / Re: Physgun colours
« on: May 08, 2013, 02:04:18 PM »
This idea has already been suggested and that is what lead to the idea for the colored ranks. But the idea of buying them was denied. Also the colors right now are on OCRP not all the servers so if its for OCRP please get this moved in there.

The mayor should be able go give such permits but by default there shouldn't be a law requiring them. Just adds more stuff for people to do while setting up a shop and it would simply annoy them. Plus it isn't really needed. People never set up shops in really bad places and if they are doing it in he middle of the street or something kindly ask an administrator to do something about it.
