"What's RSO?"

Credits to Kaz/KFrohman for x1d and previous versions as well as the original mappers.
This version contains several new features that are designed with Catalyst Gaming's HL2RP server in mind.

Changelog
- Civil Protection now have access to a garage which is opposite the CWU HQ.

- Removed secret tunnel entrance at District One. Tunnel now links to P3 and the Diordna.

- Four admin rooms for when you're AFK or teaching new players and you don't want to be seen on the RDT rooftop or CA office.

- Increase in security measures for the Nexus armoury.

- Precinct 3 HAP has undergone an angle change to line up with the Citadel wall and the Nexus corner.

- The front of the Nexus has been realigned from 23 degrees (or some silly number that had a decimal) to 45 degrees - huge credits to Kaz for this because now I can actually fix things without it breaking more things! :D

- Nexus medbay and the CWU HQ has undergone retexturing.

- Better skybox, more accustomed to the night atmosphere and mood.

- The crash-inducing furnace has been replaced with a much more stable and 'server-friendly' pit of acid. DON'T KILL PEOPLE IN THIS OTHERWISE THEY HAVE TO RECONNECT!

- The dumpster in the plaza now removes any items tossed into it by the placement of a trigger_remove.

- ZEALOT now has their own control room downstairs in the Hand to Hand area of the Nexus.

- Several areaportals added to the Nexus to improve optimisation.

- Removal of the light bulb which opened the secret room in the D6 underground bar. The new method of entry will be more difficult to locate.

- Overwatch deployment area next to the Nexus cafeteria.

- Sector 2 removed altogether, though the CWU HQ will remain.

- Night skybox has been put in place of the overly cheery day skybox. Lighting has been adjusted accordingly to create a darker atmosphere and mood.

- Some CWU HQ textures were changed to contrast better against the exterior brick wall and interior plaster walls.

- UCH now has a CCA booth in which the entire building can be locked down by the press of a button.

- The activation of the thumpers/exogen restriction field is joined by an announcement over the loudspeakers in several locations in the plaza.

- CA camera glitch where the screen wouldn't render should be fixed (though I think this was a serverside lag issue and not something wrong with the map)

- 'Too many vertices' errors should be lessened when travelling through the plaza (some of the plaza models have been given LOD properties)

- More efficient and less performance demanding lighting in District 6.

- Trainstation still has electrified rails, however there have been improvements in lighting and brushwork in this area.

- Nexus entrance now has a working areaportal. After doing this and running some tests, I got a 40 fps boost in the plaza. (tested on a quad core i5 @ 2.80ghz - other people have said it was a 20 fps boost or so for them on lower-grade PCs)

- Nexus door has been widened and the glitch that Kaz had with a part of the door not showing up properly has now been fixed.

- Nexus lighting has been tuned to create a 'cold' feeling in some areas.

- Environment lighting has been tuned for the night skybox.

- Custom decals have been placed over the Nexus side wall facing the UCH.

- Water/lighting glitch in the D6 canals is now fixed.

- Fixed an issue causing a func_viscluster in the D6 canals not to work effectively. After testing, I got a 10 fps boost in this area.

- Several floating prop placement issues have been fixed.

- Removed a shipyard that Kaz thought would be a good idea to put in the D6 canals as an extension. Reasons for its removal simply came down to the fact it wasn't going to help performance at all or do anything good for anticitizen RP.

- Buildings have been added to the 3D skybox in the plaza and D6, thus creating a walled-in feeling and one of entrapment.

- Most L4D2 content has been removed and replaced by similar textures.

- A dark secret...

Download link will be available once the map is confirmed to be working on the server. Kronic has been kind enough to upload it onto the server box already, map data still needs doing though.

all quoted from ozjackal except for the download link

map is broken, will be fixed at a later date - if your models are broken, remove the map from your garrysmod/maps folder.

News and Announcements / Orange Cosmos Roleplay 2
« on: June 16, 2012, 01:46:08 PM »

Alright, so as some of you may already know due to leaks, or just assuming something that's pretty obvious, OCRP2 is currently in development. We haven't just started, it's been in development for a while, and there will be a lot of changes coming. Most details won't be released until it's finished; however any details that you guys are told, will be provided by Crap-Head in the OCRP server. This is more than just any update, this is big, and I'm sure you'll all enjoy it.

Admins are currently giving the developers suggestions and ideas to work on for the gamemode, and we've already got tons of progress. This time Crap-Head is putting a lot of effort into making it as YOU want it. If you feel you have a GOOD suggestion that will benefit OCRP2, make a thread about it.

Don't listen to any rumors about the gamemode, you should only be listening to stuff that comes directly from Crap-Head. The release date and any other details, as I said above, will be released when we're ready, and the admins have given all the suggestions they can think of. The only people who know whats being done as of now are the Administrators, and of course Owners and Developers. We hope you're excited for this, because our developers have been working hard on it, and they're doing a great job.

Please don't ask our staff about information for OCRP2, and don't bug Crap-Head about it. You will all be told when we are ready to give more information on the gamemode.

Civil Workers Union / Activity
« on: May 13, 2012, 04:15:15 PM »
Many people have been complaining about inactive CWU, so I'm going to be trying to increase the activity by making CWU RP a little more then just RPing stores and such.  I'd like everyone who's active to post here with your character's name, and the times you're usually active.  Don't forget that if you're inactive for a good reason, you must post in the inactivity logs.

Civil Workers Union / [IC] Hello.
« on: May 13, 2012, 02:27:26 PM »
*This can be found on the bulletin board in the CWU HQ*

Most of you probably don't know me well, or even at all.  I am James McDougall, I've been in the CWU for about 7 months(OOC time).  Ryan Peters, one of the current Organizers(Purple) decided today that he needed somewhat of a break, he's known me for ages and he believes that I would do a good job as Organizer.  I wouldn't consider me a replacement, as Peters is still around he just won't be able to do as much as he used to.  Anyways, I'll be speaking to all of you shortly, I just thought I'd pin this up here so you're all up to date.

*OOC*
Purple wants me to help the current Organizers and Assistant(s) fix some of the issues with the CWU, he's busy with the CCA most of the time so he appointed me to pretty much take over for him for a while.

Suggestions / More servers.
« on: May 02, 2012, 10:50:01 AM »
Throughout all the time I've spent at CG, we've pretty much always had the same servers; there hasn't been much change.  I'd suggest this directly to Rofl; however I'd like to see what other people have to say about this.  CG's population is definitely pretty damn big, but we used to rise each day way more then we do now.  I personally think that having more servers would fix this.

What will more servers bring us?
First of all, more players.  Having more players brings in more donations, having more donations means a longer lasting CG.  Now don't get me wrong, donations don't really matter here as we already get enough to keep us going; I was merely stating the fact (plus I know Rofl loves his donations).  People who play the new servers might eventually check out the site and some of our other servers, meaning not only will we have more players just for those servers, but they will also begin to populate our current servers even more.

I have to admit, role-play gets pretty boring after a while, and although they are not the only servers we host, the community is pretty much based around them.

Some servers/gamemodes I would suggest would be:
-Stranded.  It may get boring after a while of playing, but what doesn't?
-TTT, I know we have one, but lets get it fixed and running again.
-Flood, this I'm not too sure about; however I do think that in time it could turn out to be nice and bring in some more players.

That's pretty much all I can think about for now, but as stated above I really think adding a couple, or even one of these would be really good for the community.  At LEAST fix the TTT server, I'm pretty sure many people here at CG enjoyed playing that.

Feel free to suggest some more gamemodes in this topic, I'd like to see what people enjoy playing these days.

Suggestions / Game Server Suggestion? Read!
« on: December 21, 2011, 11:53:42 PM »
The easiest thing is to not suggest game servers.  But if you do, make sure it has not been suggested before, and that it is a viable thing for CG to host.

Social Discussion / School.
« on: September 17, 2011, 12:27:31 AM »
Well I've been seeing all these posts about people hating school and wishing they didn't have to go back so heres how it's going for me. School is AWESOME. I'm just starting my third week back but man, I really love it. I've never been so excited to wake up at 6:00am and be somewhere for 7:40.  The way I see it is just enjoy it. It's a good excuse to get outta the house and have a LIFE. Before I started this year I thought it was gonna be the shittiest year of my life seeing as how I just moved, but I'm actually starting to love the fact that summers over. Anyways, what I really wanted to do was ask a questions: What time do you all start/finish, what classes do you have this semester, and whats your favourite? I start and 8 and finish at 2 and I have french first period, phys. ed. second, english third, and science last. My favourite class is english BY FAR.   :D

Awesome band. If any of you like punk rock I highly suggest you listen to them. Been my favourite band for like 8 years, broke up in 2005 and they finally got back together in 2009. If any of you listen to them, whats your favourite song?
