Title: [SUGGESTION][City] A short drop and a sudden stop.
Post by: [TNS-D] Sanitorium on April 18, 2012, 05:53:41 PM
It is a cold, gloomy day in City 45. A train arrives, bringing more Civilians. A seemingly normal day.  But suddenly, A man, held by the arms of two units wearing trench coats bearing shotguns walks out of the Nexus on the balcony. He has a black bag over his head and he is in classic Resistance dress. A group of citizens has gathered. Whispers of confusion spread through the crowd like a wildfire. A unit in his ceremonial uniform appears. He seems to be a high-command member. A noose is put over the man's head, the black bag never removed. The two trench-coated units step back, taking places next to the high-command unit. One of them is ordered to step up to the man, pulling a lever. The man feels a short drop and a sudden stop, his neck breaking and his breathing quickly cut off. His life flashes before his eyes as it is extinguished. All of the units present move back into the Nexus as a screen flickers to life, showing a Civil Administrator. He begins his speech regarding the event. Flies begin to congregate around the corpse, buzzing loudly. The crowd breaks up, obviously scared by the event and return to their daily lives.

Information
This event is about the public execution of a resistance member. It would likely turn into a lolriot due a resistance member dying, but that could be dispersed and controlled ICly and OOCly. It would create some sadness/angerRP and be a fun event for all involved. The resistance character could be played easily by making a new character and teleporting it to the Nexus.

We can already publicly execute BoLs - However, it just hasn't been done yet.

There used to be quite a few public executions back in City 18, I wish there were more of them.

Indeed - Although, those were more along the lines of hasty level one verdicts. The system that's currently in place advocates ceremonial aspects. Again, though, I haven't found a BOL to execute.

It would be best to do a partial D6 sweep, specifcally for the purpose of capturing a few webuls - Deployed scanners can ensure minimal disturbance to the rest of the district. If any webuls are missed, they could be informed that they have permission to enter D1 and wreak some havock.
By using actual webuls, we drive more RP, and get a legitimate response from D6.

That's a great idea.

If it's a public execution you want, any Commander can void all restrictions on the format, all you need is a Commander's permission. Globey, I'll give you the right to perform this, yet only once and for this event only. The D6 sweep will be a bit hard to get permission for, so you'll have to settle for just the execution if you can't get auths from Raiden/Rofl. Just get 2 01s to help you and PM me their digits, and I'll have a present for them and you when I return to the City on my Commander.

A hanging requires an admin to be present, to rope the ragdoll etc, so you might have to change a hanging to the Amputation format.

Approved. Have it when the player count is above 30 and you and the 2 01s are present.

Did the event yesterday - Bromine made a fake rebel for the event. The 01s participating were 357 (Riemer) and 717 (Lance Briggs).

I pulled the lever.  8)

And using an actual webul would be nice, get his webul buddies to come out of D6 for once.

Considering it's against the rules for rebels to actually be rebels in D1 (They're not even allowed to use their firearms) that probably won't ever happen. There shouldn't really be a rule like that, considering if I was a rebel and had a gun and my best friend was being hung, I would have shot at least Globey from the crowd.

Aww - thanks bud. I knew I could depend upon you :p

Would have had a hell of a time doing it - We had about 8 or so armed units on crowd control.

XD Nothing against you. If my best friend was being killed I'd aim to kill the highest ranking officer there at the time. Take a human shield and start shooting from over their shoulder. Sure, that guy is definantly going to die, and so would you, but you might buy yourself enough time to kill your target for VENGEANCE.

Just a quick question, who participated in the event (Units) and who was executed?

Globey organized, I, 357 was the executioner, and I don't know who the other 01 was. And Bromine's AC character that he made was killed.

As I said in a previous post, 604 (myself), 357 (Riemer), and 717 (Lance Briggs) were involved.
