Subject: Beatings

<::|| I think I need to rethink about how I go about beating people. Or rather, how I go about deciding what I'll do. Let me elaborate - Earlier today, while on patrol, I walked past UCH, past the stairs. On the railing above, were two citizens. One of them threw a can at my head. I had no idea which of the two it was, so I gave it to them to designate who did what. Once someone was picked, I got them on the wall, told the other one to go away, and then proceeded to tie, search and detain - Except it never is that easy.

The citizen refused to spread their legs so I could perform a basic pat down. After being told numerous times to comply, I thrust my stunbaton between his legs and forcefully pulled it upwards, electrocuting his uh.. private parts. Surprisingly, he still stood defiant. I tried again. He fell on the floor. I would have used this opportunity to search him, but he got up too quickly.

To cut the story short, I eventually got the citizen on the wall again, but then the OTHER citizen came along. It eventually came about that we all were in a semi-major altercation, at one point, I had both citizens on me, however how the tied one managed to hop on, I do not know. I eventually shook them off and managed to severely beat both of them, then swiftly shove them in detainment.

As any unit will know, if you're going to detain someone, paperwork MUST be filled in. Being the only unit 10-8 at the time, this was daunting, because I just dragged two citizens in for Assault Class 3C, Malcompliancy Level 2 and Accomplicity. They weren't scared. I tried various tactics to get them to apply, but to no avail. To this moment, I do not know the details of the two I had amputated.

Since they were both being very cocky, malcompliant and otherwise unruly, I figured it might be just to give them a little treatment. I had somehow got the idea in my head, to stick my electroshock baton in the anal cavity of one of the males, electrocute them, then "cleaning" the same baton by sticking it in the mouth of the other. Needless to say, Cells 1 and 2 will need a good clear out. One couldn't sit properly due to being violated, and the other couldn't speak for what had just happened.

Eventually, I got the order from OfC.522 to amputate. The guy who had his rear sector massacred? He was violent til the end, his last words being [REDACTED]. The other guy? Eh, He let out a moan because he couldn't talk. Sucks to be him.

That's just one half of my day. Later on, with more units 10-8, I was on patrol. Soon, A citizen purposely walked in front of me, blocking my patrol route. I told them twice to move, both met with a stern "No!". I was beginning to lose my cool. I slapped her round the mouth with my stun baton. She was still doing the same thing. She claimed that beating her would be a "big mistake" ((Side note, her physdesc including something like "is rebellious")). I ask her to elaborate more, when another citizen, this time an american male with brown hair, agrees with the citizen.

It's at this point I radio in for another unit to asist me at the park, and I explicitly mentioned there was a possibility of me being ganged upon. No response. I try again, but as I do, the male kicked the handheld radio from me. As he did, the female kicked me in the stomach, sending me to the ground. I was fortunate enough to have only sustained minor injuries, however I consider myself more fortunate that a City ScN unit was nearby, monitoring the situation. It reported the problem, and pretty much all of the units who were 10-8 assembled upon my position.

The male, who was attempting to steam my baton, was caught in the act, but that didn't stop him from making a run for it. He ran into UCH by the time I recovered full enough to resume my directives, and had gathered the rest of my things. My radio and baton weren't too far away, so I resumed sharply.

The male citizen was regarded as an anti-citizen, along with Malignant. EpU 713 called a sweep of the entire UCH. They eventually found him, in A6, swiftly amputating. After that was done, I resumed SD's. Eventually, I found the female I was dealing with earlier, however it didn't come across to me until AFTER she mentioned she was being chased.

I radio'd it in again about the citizen. No response. Tried again - No response. After this, she started running away ((Side note, she fucking lolran away from me while I was radioing -.-)), So I had to give chase. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep up, and she ran into S2. I notified the rest of the team about the situation, a description and a BOL. STILL no response, not even an acknowledgement. Starting to get somewhat fed up about the severe lack of communication skills, I resumed my patrol. As I walked by UCH, she showed up again. I immediately gave chase, but she ran into S6. Radio'd in an update - STILL NO RESPONSE. I suppose I *should* have done a 10-2, but radio comms were working fine since I got regular updates about the UCH mission, and I hadn't changed anything on the radio.

I started to wonder why I bother radioing anything in, if it just gets ignored. I continued my patrols. Eventually, an 03 shows up and explains to me why they never responded - They were shifting a necrotics canister into the furnace. Now I know they were busy but would it really hurt to just give a quick notification that they're busy? As I explain this, 435 shows up. Even though I'm seething with rage at my colleagues, I still have the decency to salute. They wanted a status report.

Midway through my explaining of the situation, THE SAME WOMAN WHO GAVE ME GRIEF EARLIER RUNS PAST. Needless to say, I, 435 and the 03 were in pursuit, weilding batons. We caught her in the S2 HAP, but she squeezed past and went the other way. Soon after, she vapourised. ((Banned by an admin for constant lolrunning)).

Today hasn't been good, but I suppose that's life. I like to think I try by best and I apply myself the best to whatever it is I do, but sometimes I get the impression I'm only good enough for 04, and that's how it will always be - 04.234, the unit everyone looks down to and ignores.

Oh well. ||::>

//I believe it was me. Seems like I am the only one that really responds to 234 while on active duty. Other than when I am 10-6. (shifting the canister that landed on myself during the shelling).

I, personally believe his actions are fine, he's always hesitant in game, but has that ability to gain revenge any way that he seems fit.

I think you should keep on with this kaz, it's an enjoying read, oh, and let's just say HC have access to read CCA private logs and that I didn't just get magically nice to you. Harhar... Even though my attitude changed towards you before I started reading this...  ???

Subject: An overview of the last 2 days.

<::|| My last log can be somewhat voided. OfC 713, who I've somewhat maintained as a mentor, personally promoted me the other day to 03. This brought a heap of changes to the way I do things. I'm going to try to keep this brief but considering what's happened? Might not be a possibility.

The day before last, I was finishing up in detainment with someone, when I did a brief check of the cells. The subject in Cell 4 was in for multiple Audio Violations, among other things. I checked in to see if he had been re-educated. Apparently he was, however it wasn't enough as the subject repeatedly fired multiple expletives towards the Union Civil Authority (UCA, because Combine Civil Authority seems.. well.. a bit silly... A bit.. simple-minded).

I sought permission to re-educate the citizen even harder. If you remember my last log entry, you'll remember the stunstick-in-mouth treatment I gave to that subject. I did it again, however this time it was much cleaner. Before I left, I made it VERY clear that if he was to do it again, his tongue would be removed. It seems the guy learnt his lesson after I administered... or so I thought. After I dealt with a subject in Cell 1, I overheard Cell 4's subject making the same remarks. He had obviously lied.

I radio'd it in, requesting permission to do something much more drastic which required a knife. At first, I was scolded because apparently, I was initially to give a Level 3 verdict, however I claimed that he had already received that prior to my involvement, thus harsher punishments should be given if he continues. 713 stepped in, telling me to wait outside the cell. I did, and made idle chat with 967. Soon after, a clink was heard. Both me and 967 turned to the source, noting a knife was dropped onto the ground from the upper railing. As I looked up, I noticed 713 was standing there, staring at us. We both saluted, and he mentioned to cut the guys' tongue off. Would it be considered coincidence that removal of the tongue was my idea as well? He's certainly rubbing off on me. I think he was assessing me for my... brutality.

It took me a few seconds to realise that he dropped the knife for me to use in the procedure, at which point, I walked in front of the cell, waving the blade in front of the window. The subject promptly begged for mercy. I wasn't having it. I barged into the room, held the citizen to the wall and had the knife positioned so that upon applying pressure, his cheeks would split open. Once again, I cannot account for where that idea may have originated. After some taunting, leaving despair and hope, I thrust the knife into his cheeks, splitting them open and causing blood to pour everywhere. He couldn't move his mouth, speak or even move after that, he just slumped into the ground.

I picked him up with relative ease, thrusting him against the wall again. Instead of holding him by his shoulder like before, his mouth was open, so I held his tongue out. Other than a slight whimper and his eyes turning to me, there was no action, so I sliced his tongue off and stuck it in a jar, as suggested by 713. After that, 713 entered the room, claiming the citizen has a Physical Imperfection, so an amputating was required. Bit of a shame to be honest, I'd like to have seen him try to cope with life without being able to speak, eat or swallow. Oh well. I'll not list what I did to amputate him as looking back, it was brutal. I did it because I could and because I was bored. Oh well.

I need to write more on this, but I'll do it later. Next log - Exogen Breach, A stabbing, and an encounter with an OTA unit. ||::>

Subject: RE: An overview of the last 2 days.

<::|| Moving onto yesterday. Was pretty normal up until around 8:30 in the morning ((ingame time, estimated cause I finished rations at 7:57am)), when an alert came over about a possible exogen breach, however, none of the restrictors engaged, so it left us assuming the system was faulty... Well.. That was until we saw them exit the S6 HAP. Fortunately, I was well equipped with over 1000 rounds of SMG ammo to lay to waste. As I and other units were rapidly despatching the exogens, we had reports of them from S2 HAP. Without any further thinking, I dashed over there to asist. I was moving back and forward between the two HAP's until I, along with other units, were instructed to hold by the Transit Restrictor. We did, until I noticed that the team assigned at S6 HAP were having issues.

Noticing the coast was clear, I made my way over there, killing off more exogen which were vaulting over the HAP. It was at this point, after briefly suggesting to 713 that they may be coming from the sewer system, that he asked for a team to assemble at S2 HAP. Seeing as 713 was my mentor, I felt OBLIGED to assist. So I did, along with other units including OfC 522. We swept S2, coming across approximately 5-6 Exogen Subjects. After clearing, we moved to the tunnels, but that meant having to go through the old bar, which required a standard breach.

Having only been my second breach outside of training, I was nervous, not because of what was inside, but because I wanted to make a good impression on my superiors. With no "directly assigned" team leader, we reverted to the Highest Rank TL routine, which meant that 713 was TL, however he had a shotgun, which meant he also breached. I forget which order we went in, but there was about 1-2 Exogen Subjects in the room, rapidly despatched of. After clearing the room, we moved to the wall which revealed the sewers. Behind it? 2 Exogen Subjects. Dealt with that.

What I find somewhat odd, is that both 522 and 713 went down the ladder first - into a dark, damp sewer system which would almost certainly contain multiple specimens of Exogen. I was right. No sooner were they down than they were, at a guess, surrounded. I don't think they took any hits, as a rapid succession of gunfire brought the specimens down. Rest of the units followed. Highest ranks out front, then going in order. There was, if I remember correctly, 2 OfC's, me and another 03, and one 04 unit.  The OfC's were well equipped, leading us to mainly be just scouting, and covering our rear. This continued on til we reached the Diordna side of the system. Somehow, an Exogen "Guard" was there waiting for us inside diordna itself.

It was at this point that... *LOG FILE CORRUPTED - BEGINNING RECOVERY PROCEDURE* ||::>

<::|| RECOVERY PROCEDURE SUCCESSFUL. CONTINUING FROM LAST SENTENCE ||::>

<::|| It was at this point that, after grouping and being told to hold at a corner, 334 decides to wantonly charge up the latter, much to the dismay of all of the other units. As a result, they were pounded in the chest about 3 times, falling down the ladder but still conscious. Some of the other units dragged them to the side, while I made a radio call for a NOVA unit. I was concerned about the state of 334, and offered to stay behind to help, but 713 insisted I come with, so I did. We caught a visual of the guard through the ladder opening, and were instructed to fire upon it. After about 30 seconds, it died, allowing us to progress.

Prior to leaving Diordna, 522 ordered us to regroup with a team in the old sub-transit system who needed support. We made good speed and in little time were at the Plaza end of the tunnel. It was surreal. Graffiti everywhere, rubble, broken fences, and the only light source being a very dim, yellow light just before you walk in. Down to 4 units, we swept in pairs, square formation - 2 front, 2 back. The OfC's were at front, while me and the 04 were on rear. We were commanded to stay frosty as visibility was minimal, so flashlights were on at all times. As we swept the area, I regularly turned around, checking our 6 - Basic survival skills. About 3/5's through the tunnel, we came across the sideways rail car. It was scary. 713 took the 04 on the left side of the car, while 522 and I moved on the right side, regrouping shortly after. The tunnel was clear until we reached the rest of the units, upon which we held. The group consisted of a DvL, of which group I am unsure, but his digits were 813.

Holding firm, we slowly made our way up to the platform edge of the S6 station, where we were greeted by a surprisingly passive CONSCRIPT. ((OOC Note here, x1c has it so they are now hostile and will kill a unit in pretty much one hit. You best be prepared.)) Nevertheless, we killed it, climbing onto the platform. Regrouping, we made our way up the station stairs, where we were greeted by what I assume was a special kind of Exogen which spits what looked like corrosive spray. While I never got to see them myself, I did note that 813 got hit in the face by one of the spits, which he swiftly wiped off his mask. I don't know if it had any effect or not, but I'd guess not, since they kept doing their duty.

We encountered another guard, however, due to our location, only about 4 of the total 9 units (incl. myself) with us could fire upon it. Once that was done, we swept the open areas of S6. It was clear until we reached the tunnel to XCCR, whereupon we met a new nemeis - Necrotics. Having not really dealt with them before, I, along with other units, just stood there yelling "Necrotics!", being idle. Looking back, I feel dumb, but more came from the other end of the tunnel. 813 took half of the squad through the tunnel to meet at the other end, whereas me, 522 and two other units hung back, awaiting for more necrotics to show. They did, however it seems they were stuck in a room. Being mindful of the stairs and my surroundings, I went down the steps to get a better shot, however, as I did, 522 called me back up. Maybe.. Just maybe, I wont be so brave next time.

After a while of waiting, I asked 522 if we should regroup with the others. As I did, DvL.813 asked where the rest of us were, to which I replied that we were dealing with necrotics. 522 responded to me, saying we should hold here. Shortly after, 813 demanded a regroup, to which I said "DvL's orders, sir". 522 rejected that, saying to secure the tunnel, but then he reconsidered, and we made our way to XCCR. Once regrouped, we assisted the others with necrotics until the time came to breach XCCR. 813 demanded that 4 units hold the tunnel. Without hesitation, I offered up, and made my way straight there. It was about 30 seconds before I radio'd in for at least 3 other units to come with. Let's just say... they weren't the most well equipped.

There was an 04 who had ran out of ammo, thus resorted to carrying their baton about (like that would stop anything), and a couple other units whose rank, units and division I forgot. I had to hand the 04 a spare box of 9mm munitions, and had told the others to hold here while I and the 04 patrolled the tunnel. Must say, it felt good to have some form of control over certain units, even though by definition, I had no authority to, but since it was a small group, I'd guess that it would slide.

Although the tunnel was lit, it had a few dark areas which made things seem a little scary. I could hear the 04's whimpers, at which I simply ignored. Once we returned back to the XCCR side of the tunnel, we held, radioing for a status on the XCCR. Told to hold further, then everyone regrouped on us. After that, we made our way back to Sector 1, briefly sweeping the rest of S6. It was all clear, and we made our way back to the Nexus.

As I got in, I briefly saluted two other units, I think an OfC and an EpU, and continued on. I was about to go 10-100, but 813 ordered us all to the HCMR for debrief.
It was quite brief, 813 expressing his surprise that none of us got deserviced, but he was aware that some did take a hit or two, so he ordered all units attacked on duty to head to the medwing right away. I think after that, I went stasis, as I can't remember what happened after.

This is 234, signing off.

Subject: General stuff #1

<::|| GRID seems to be doing a lot of structural work to the general district as of late. I hear now that they're planning on doing something to the RDT, something along the lines of making it an auxiliary detainment center as well. Also heard they're doing some major changes in the lower levels of the nexus, which doesn't surprise me but I can only assume good things will result.

Enough of that. I'm not quite sure how long I've been enrolled in the UCA, but I think it's been somewhere in the region of around 4 weeks, which isn't bad. Personally, I think I'm doing fine as an 03 unit, but my mentor, 713, started hinting at me about a promotion, so I asked about it and he's now going to discuss this with the other High Command units. Somehow, I think this may not go through. No idea why.
If I do get promoted to 02, that means, if I remember correctly, I can properly command lower ranking units without fear of being reprimanded for being too commanding. I've always had a bit of a commanding disposition, but no real authority. I guess this might change.

I asked 713 last week about what he'd like to see from me. His answer? He just wants me to be a good unit, so that I shall be. Not just for him, but for every other UCA unit. For the union.||::>

Subject: Melons

<::|| I hate melons. Watermelons, that is. Shortly after going on patrol, earlier today, I saw a citizen had set up a table with about 6 melons on it, and to the side was a pan with some broth in it, steaming. Unsure if the melons were contraband or not ((they were prop melons)), I simply asked for the citizens' permit, just to see what they would do. They brought out a clipboard, which I swiftly smacked out of their hands with my baton. I told them to apply, at which point he threw a melon at me. Melons may not look much, but they're heavy.

I was knocked back a bit, but I stabilised and brought my stunbaton again. As I did, they took the hot broth and poured it over me. I was largely unharmed, except my legs hurt due to the broth - Lack of waterproof-ness and thermal insulation. While I was jumping around, I made an urgent radio call for backup, which arrived later than I wished. It consisted of a Recruit, I think. Meanwhile, I tried to get the citizen to comply, my SMG in his face.

It didn't work. I ended up shooting the guy in the leg, which left him on the ground. This left me the opportunity to command the RCT to tie the man. Strangely, he got him on the wall, even though the man was quite able to be tied while on the ground. Whatever.

Tied, Searched and detained, I already planned to Amputate him, but I was going to have some fun with him first. I jest at him, making a remark that instead of Melons, I expected tacos because the mans' name was Mason Gomez. This seemed to annoy him at first, but this progressively got worse. Subject showed signs of 10-103M, making demonic noises and chants, claiming he was going to "eat my soul", or something to that effect. Then they started foaming at the mouth chanting more. It was at this point, considering that I was in the same cell, I had to amputate. I had never seen something like it before. I'd have liked to get NOVA involved, but unfortunately, they were 10-6 carting a DB. Oh well.||::>

Subject: I'm concerned.

<::|| Things are about to change... badly. I and 713 had a classified meeting in HCMR earlier today... I don't think I've ever felt so confused in my life. As it stands, My mentor, My friend, 713, is facing a possible OWR because of a confrontation with Acting Officer 570. I do not know the specifics, but I am aware that the offence is worth 3 black marks, which, if I am not mistaken, is grounds for immediate OWR. The SeC wants to talk to him, so I KNOW that this is the end for 713. I am left feeling sad, angry, confused. I don't know what to feel. 713 reassured me, handing me a letter, which I read after our meeting. I shall not disclose its' contents, however, I have reason to believe that even after 713 is deserviced, he would have put many things in place, particularly for the future.

Speaking of 713, I can see he expects much of me - His atitudes as of late have allowed me to be more commanding; taking leads during sweeps, even issuing orders to higher ranked units than myself. Maybe he's trying to re-assure himself that he's placed enough information, and had enough of an impact on me, to know that when he goes, all is not lost. I share that same vision. On the off chance he isn't OWR'd, that doesn't change my outlook. I want to do my mentor proud.

So far, he has passed onto me his trusty titanium blade, custom black and red armbands with gold embroidery, his SISP and another object, of which I shall not disclose.

This message is to myself, and to 713.
713, I want to personally thank you for being there.. For giving me these perks.. For tutoring me, teaching, training me into the good unit I am. For covering my back... It pains me to realise this can be undone just like that. On your passing, I shall arrange a favour with GRID, to perform something to my weapons. You will always be remembered, 713. ||::>

Subject: Exogens, Necrotics

<::|| I've decided that all future logs I make, until 713 gets deserviced, I shall share with him, even if he may be in stasis.
I think today was a good day, to be honest. I felt that I and 713 spent a lot of time bonding. Nothing untoward, we see each other as equals.. Well, I hope so at least. It felt.. weird... knowing that someone who's been taking care of you during rough times is about to go. I'm just going to have to learn how to cope..

Later this day, I was communicating with OfC 570 about my training - I had yet to complete phase C, which is Intermediate Command. I sought some clarifications. Got them, then the entire nexus' power went out. This left me and 570 stranded, in the HCMR, with our only light source being our flashlights. The doors couldn't open, and the floor control panel was too high for either of us. What made it worse was an apparent screeching sound. It took a while to register, but then I realsed, the screeches were the sound of Exogen. Being the units stuck in the lowest levels of the nexus, we were at high risk. Both I and 570 got the sitrep of all other units, the only available GRID unit who could reach the power controls was an 02.. 318X I think. While I had absolutely NO authority to boss them around, boss them around I did. I directed them to get to the power center, but nope. They decided it would be smart to go to the GRID MoC, one floor above. Despite repeated attempts to get them to the right area, it seemed they refused to budge. Selfish... I would put an expletive here, but I shall refrain.

I heard another set of screeches, this time, they sounded like they were coming from S2, which happened to be the wall that 570 was near. I told him to stay away from it, which he did. Finally, GRID got to the power control, enabling Level 2 power, which, as far as I can tell, engages City control, Doors, elevators and main lighting. From there, I and 570 made our way up to the lobby, where we decided, along with 04.717, to perform a sweep of Sector 1 & 2 at my discretion.  - I found this a brilliant method of testing my intermediate command abilities - Directing other units, including those ranked higher than me when nessessary.

We had a hurdle to overcome first, though. Outside the main nexus door, were no fewer than 5 standard exogen subjects. I and 570 rapidly killed them, bar one, which made a break for the nexus. Not on my watch. I, 570 and 717 briefly swept Sector 1, checking dark areas and corners. I made my way counter clockwise around the main monument, regrouping with the others at S2HAP... well, the theory at least. 717, who seems to have a bad case of the brave, (and dumb), rushed off into S2 ahead of both me and 570, almost getting hit by an exogen in the process. After retrieving the unit, we briefed about RoE, before setting off into S2. Surprisingly, compared to last time, there was a low amount of exogen. This changed when we got to the sewers.

I must say, 717 had a strange knack of opening the doors to the sewers.. 570, Who has been on sewer sweeps before, didn't know how to open it, yet this 04 unit, 717, somehow managed it. Baffling. Might add, they did it while both 570 and I were unprepared, which meant I got attacked by an exogen. I promptly yelled at him.

The entire sewer system was full of necrotics - not a single exogen located down there. There were some... odd ones.. down there too.. Ones which had hardly any muscle, let flew at you as if they were stupidly built... then there were the overwatch ones... yeah, that's right. Overwatch Necrotics. None of us had ever seen such a thing before. I was unsure as to what to do with it. It looked like it was overcome with Necrotic Infection, but this is, or was, an Overwatch unit we're dealing with... It felt wrong. Under 570's guidance, I reluctantly killed it.

After we killed it, we mutually agreed to make the High Command/CmD/SeC aware of this, and pressed on. Necrotics came at irregular intervals, some even from our 6. We had to keep on guard. Eventually, we got to the Diordna Sub Tunnel and storage room. In the storage room, there were these.. things... hanging from the ceiling.. They were brown, and had what looked like a long green.. tongue? We would have proceeded otherwise, except there was one right outside the pipe.. Not good.

We held, observing necrotics being caught in the tongues of these things, being pulled up and then being spat downwards, before the thing  decided to.. barf.
Well, that's what it looked like, at least. After they barf, they appear to die, the tongue shrivelling and no longer latching to anything. This happened to all except the one directly in front, so we had to fall back to throwing objects, including a spare flash grenade. Eventually, it latched, giving us a window to run out and kill it.

We turned the corner, noting more dead necrotics. There was another Overwatch necrotic, and another one I had never seen before. It had its' entire upper half laid bare and explodes, bloody and purple-ish, while attached to it were what I call sub-necrotics - The things that attach to subjects' heads. These weren't normal ones though. There were about 3-4 of them on the necrotics' back, one on their head, all black with slight hairs. They were all dead.

We swept through Diordna, clearing it and the plaza again, before returning to the nexus for a Debrief. It was only when I entered the HCMR that I realised I sustained an injury to my right hand - My palm to be exact. I got a laceration to my palm, about 3" across, no more than 4mm deep. I clenched my fist, stemming the bloodflow during the debrief until I got to the Medical wing, where I was swiftly seen to and healed.

During the debrief, Officer 570, who was my team lead during the entire situation, applauded my use of commands, ensuring the safety of my fellow units. More on him later.

Thus, that sums up my second Exogen and Necrotic Breach. ||::>

Subject: A meeting with Officer 570

<::|| Officer 570 called me into the HCMR today, shortly after training 04.700 how to use the treatment facility, including a citizen to use it on. Fun.
Anyway, once down there, we had a lengthy discussion about our division, UNION, and the future. It was at this point, that 570 laid two important pieces of information at me. The first one was that, prior to his promotion to Acting Officer, he had planned to speak to 522, our DvL, about transferring to NOVA. It just so happened, at that time, 522 had him as Acting Officer of UNION, replacing 713 for what was initially going to be a week, but we all know what happened there.

The second bit of information, was that, when his time period is up, a replacement Officer is required. I pondered why he was stating the obvious, but he then told me that, with everything accounted for, I was supposedly next in line. This came as quite a shock, and I tried to reason with 570. I mean, It's good to know you're being considered, it means you're doing well, but I've only been an 02 for.. 4-5 days.. I've not even had any 01 training for that matter. I checked the UNION roster, and sure enough, there's two 01 units and an EpU, all, if you discount activity and contributions to the Universal Union, are otherwise ahead of me in the line.

570 understood where I was coming from, and was quick to point out their flaws. The EpU very rarely comes onto active duty, and the two 01's have not made any recent contributions to the UU. In terms of skill and abilities, 570 reckons, and I'm sure that 713 will agree with him in this, that aside from High command, I am the Division of UNION's best unit. I don't believe in blowing my own trumpet, so I keep a modest approach, thanking him for the kind words.

We shifted our discussion to our DvL, 522. I stated that I fear him, and that I wondered if this was... normal. 570 says he isn't scared, because according to him, the only difference between me and 522 is the rank. Everything else, I am supposedly better than 522 at. I know that High Command can, at their own choice, read these messages, so here's a message to 522: I do NOT want to take your place.

After some thought, I figured that I may be fearful of 522 because he can, at his own whim, Capitally Relocate me for any reason he may see fit. I am unsure as to what lengths 522 is aware of the communications I may have with 713, but, if he feels I may be an unfit unit, then I can kiss my hard-fought and hard-earned rank and time in the union goodbye.

I want to leave this to 713. If I do get made into an OfC, I will follow in your trail. I know that is what you want from me, even if you never said it to me directly.

This is 02.234, Signing off.||::>

Subject: 203's Emotions, 713's paper.

<::|| As I was leaving the Nexus earlier, I saw that a citizen had tripped outside, hurting their jaw. I ignored it, moving to deal with another citizen a short distance away. Shortly after, however, I heard 203 show some concern towards the citizen. I stopped what I was doing and faced him, questioning him about it. He claims he was having an "off night", even though it was only 2 minutes part 3 in the afternoon. I swiftly gave him a demonstration of my thoughts on the citizens' injury, being observed by at least 2 other units and a couple of citizens, one trying to convince me not to.

I grabbed the female by the arm, holding her tightly. As I raised my baton high, the female raised her left hand, whimpering out a "No". I then proceeded to joke with her about it, giving a sense of fear and hopelessness. I smashed her in the jaw 3 times, each blow harder than the last. After that, I holstered by baton, released the citizen and turned to 203, stating that I hoped that may have taught a lesson or two. I then resumed patrol.

20 minutes later, I came across what appeared to be a drawing, pinned to a tree. If it was any other drawing, I would have dismissed it, however, this was a monochromatic drawing of 713, in his Officer attire. Underneath, in handwritten text, bear the words "Ad Memorium... 713". This struck me as concerning. What initially came to mind was how did a citizen gain access to the conversations between units, how did they access our logs and how did they know of the situation? I asked the other two units with me who did this, to which one of them pointed to a female near the RDT - The same one I dealt with earlier. I ordered her to be detained immediately, and the two units left me at the tree.

Knowing I was alone, I sighed, wondering what 713 could have done. I took the paper into my satchel, and followed up on the citizens' detainment.
It was at this time that OfC 570 came out of stasis, moving to 10-8. I requested his presence in detainment, while I got the other units to vacate and return to patrol. Knowing that 570 feels the same way as I do about 713, I knew he was the one I could call on to help. I briefed him the situation, handing him the paper. After a brief bit of interrogation, we determined that the citizen had not drawn anything on the paper, and that she merely found it lying around near the tree. After that, 570 took me to HCMR.

There, he briefed me, saying he has no reason to suspect the citizen isn't being 100% truthful. He also believes that 713 may be responsible. I can see why, but I don't understand why 713 would leave this in the street. Maybe leaving it with me and 570, sure, but where citizens can look at it? Looking back, I feel.. hurt. Hurt that 713 could have done this; leaving hints out in plain daylight about private and confidential matters.. Please don't let this be the case, 713.. I thought I could trust you.

Moving on, 570 wanted me to interrogate the citizen further, but without force. I complied, and set to work. From the second interrogation, I learnt that the citizen doesn't recognise the figure on the paper at all, aside from looking like a Civil Authority unit, and that she thought that the text made the paper some form of Pro-UU Propaganda. To add, The numbers 7, 1 and 3, in that order, do not cause any recollections to that citizen. Once I gathered this information, I requested an 11-98 with 570, not giving the information directly over radio as I believed it pertains to something that both I and 570 wish to keep to ourselves. Once I briefed 570, he reminded me that the citizen is to stay in holding until 713 returns from stasis. I relayed that to the citizen, who seemed okay with it, then I moved to 10-7. ||::>

Subject: 713 has gone.

<::|| I write this from the comfort of a medical wing bed. More on why I'm here later.
Earlier today, My mentor and friend, 713, was dishonourably deserviced. I am angry. I am sad. Hurt. I feel betrayed.
I was made aware that 713 was in the dreaded meeting, Him, Sector command, 522 and 813. I was expecting the worst, however, I see him patrolling not long after. I knew something was up. They didn't patrol with me, they didn't make friendly gestures. The only time we talked, was when we stopped in the street. I talked like I normally do, but his tone..
He talked to me like he does any other unit.. They wiped his memory of me. I tried to continue on, and managed for about 5 minutes until he and two GRID units were called to HCMR by 522. I didn't know why at the time, and just assumed all was good. That was until 713 called out for injury.

Upon asking their 10-20, I heard their response, a gunshot, then static. I ran down to the HCMR. Prior to my arrival, 570 instructed me to stay away. He is an 04. I do not take orders from 04's. As I entered, the horrifying sight lay before me. 713 was dead, on the ground. 522 had his AR2 pointed at me, telling me to get out. I was in a mix of emotion right now. Do I stay and risk being amputated, or do I leave?

I left. Thinking back, I wish I had gone in there with my SMG. I wanted answers, and I still do. I demand a private meeting with 522. I am sure I am not alone in this. 713 was held with high regard to multiple units across a range of ranks.

I moved up to the upper lobby, and sat, briefly, holding my head in my hands. I heard activity from, below. Dragging. It was 570, under orders of 522 to incinerate the body. I could not let that happen. After a brief word, I took 713's body and rushed him up to the NOVA Medical wing. The chances were slim of survival, and even if he was not his usual self, I still hold him in high regard. The course of history against present events will not deter me.

I left him in the medical wing with two high ranked NOVA units, whose digits I cannot remember. I entrusted them to look after my mentor. Before I left, I took the blade that 713 had from his clip, and attached it directly to mine. It serves as a reminder. While I am unsure of his fate at current, I know full well that I did what I had to.

713 will always be within my mind and my heart. I don't care if we are not supposed to have emotions. My emotions are only slightly suppressed, preventing extremes.

Now, to the reason why I post this from the medical bay. While chasing a citizen earlier who was being MAJORLY malcompliant, Another unit fired off a few rounds. Unfortunately, I got caught in them. Hit in the back, twice. I was stretchered in, then seen to by NOVA 147 and 211. I must thank them at some point. I don't know who shot me, but, I'm near completion. I just need to sort out replacement armour.||::>

<::|| Or at least contributed to it. I didn't expect it at first, but 713 was out and doing standard directives yesterday. This was surprising, but since he wasn't the same unit as before, my feelings were very muted, especially after that confrontation. I don't know if 713 is even aware of my part in saving his life, but, to be quite honest, I don't think much of it.

A short while ago, 713 asked me to go to the armoury. Unsure why, I went anyway, when he greeted me at the bottom of the elevator shaft. He quizzed me on why I had his blade, which was unexpected. Knowing of the complexities of everything, I simply said that it would be best explained in a more private manner. Understanding, they asked to give a stasis message, which I shall write soon.

I was tasked to outfit a fresh recruit, along with the possibility of training, however I only got as far as outfitting due to an unplanned emergency stasis //i.e. The server shat a massive dick and crashed.||::>

<::|| Per your request, sir. Attached are links to previous logs that I have sent to you. You may choose to read them before or after this.
The reason I had your knife..? It goes back a bit and is rather complicated. Let me compress it.

Prior to a thing that happened with you, you regarded me as your best unit. You were proud of me. You saw a lot of you inside me. Eventually, due to events and various happenings, you, at a guess, had a brain remapping, seemingly wiping all memories of me from you. I just became another 02 or an 01. Another set of digits. It didn't mean anything. This didn't change my regard for you, only the way I acted.

You were in HCMR with your DvL, 522. You called friendly fire. I rushed down. I found you lying on the ground, apparently dead. Confused and angry, I moved to the lobby. Shortly after, I found 570 dragging your body to the furnace. I stopped him and proceeded to drag you to the NOVA Medical ward. A unit with such history should not be laid to waste just as. I will not let that happen. It was at this point that I took not only your blade, but your award emblems. I kept them as a token of reminder. A reminder of you, just in case you didn't make it.

I can only hope I have explained this well enough. More information can be found in the attached log links. ||::>

<::|| I am mad. Furious, even. I have been taking it out on citizens as of late, but now, the rage has spread to units. 713 is dead, I saw the commander kill him. All while 522 is left not dealt with. He attempted an illegitimate amputation on 713 last week, NOTHING has been done. I want answers, and I want them NOW!

Spreading the news has been tough. 182 was the first unit I told it to. He remained relatively quiet after I mentioned the news, seeming quite deep in thought. I knew that inside that head of his, he was hurt. Broken. Confused. I haven't seen or spoken to him since. 570 was a bit less affected, but shared the sadness.

I'm yet to tell 158, however.. He's not in the best of frames right now. EpU 935 deserviced them-self. 158 was left broken. I need to tell 158, but I don't know how he'll feel and react. 882, A friend and a unit that 713 cared a lot for. Confused, angry, wanting answers. Like me, but not to the extremes. Within the last week, we have lost DvL 813 and OfC 713, while 882, 182 and probably 158 will be impaired from the news, all because of 522's injustice. This needs to be fixed.||::>

Sad for 234 and his loss, but here is what happens when/if you tell 158.

234: 713 is dead lol. Sad face.

158: What you say?

234: 522 got 713 killed.

158: Follow me.

/it 234 and 158 go to armory briefly for "re-armment." 522 is never heard from again.

<::|| Things have been... weird, lately. Still haven't found 158 to deliver the bad news.. I'll send him a stasis message after I file this.
Yesterday was.. fun, to say the least. Found myself in control of 2 other units, 147 and 887, to go on a Sector 6 Sweep. We were looking for two BOL's/647E's, however, neither I, or squad Bravo found anything, other than some bits of paper.
It was a good learning experience for all involved. I learnt what it's like to command a squad, and first hand apply the knowledge of breaching with only 3 units. Fun, but I couldn't help but think that I was failing, somewhere. If I was, CmD would have picked it out.

Later on that day, I found myself in control of pretty much the entire section of online units at the time, which is somewhat unusual, but I stuck with it. Highlights? Catching someone suspected of UPA and throwing them in Cell C. After being malcompliant, I just took out my knife and stabbed him twice in the genitals, leaving him there. Shortly after, I gassed and burnt another citizen in full view of another detainee. Strangely, they seemed unphased, refusing to show emotion. After that, I left him with the care of 326.

01.318 Showed up shortly after, with me giving them a quick brief on Cell C. He wondered if my actions were a bit harsh, and after I suggested using the cans of Expansion Gel on him, 318 responded with a very resounding NO, purely because it was unconfirmed. I eased this, by explaining the citizens' actions that occurred shortly after being reported, and what they said during detaining. They seemed eased at this, so I simply left them to it while I went down to stasis. ||::>

Subject: Yet more injustice

<::|| So for some reason or another, 882 has found himself in position of Acting Officer. I should be glad, but no. This is more injustice, more internal failures, priorities are broken. Let me brief it. 882 has been an 01 for less than a week, has not received their full training and yet somehow, manages to get picked for Acting Officer over me, when not only have I completed my training in all APEX areas, but I have also completed my time requirement as an 01. Better still? It seems that none of the EpU's were considered either. For all that matters, may as well have stuck a damn recruit in there.

I don't salute to injustice.

// The same goes for me, lol. I had been everywhere in the CCA, finally resting down as EpU for months on end. I saved my officer's life and instructed NOVA on how to save him. This all happened just last night. You don't see me being promoted. In fact, I thought I was going to get it after what I did.

But...shit happens, y'know?

// I completely agree with you. I have no idea why I'm in this position, but 882's eating it up lol. I don't think it's fair that I was promoted over all of the EpUs, either. If I had been the one who had to choose an 01, I would've definitely chosen Kaz.

This is troubling

At the time, we had to choose somebody quickly, so me and kmp probably made a mistake. Anyway, its only for a day or so, while me and kmp are injured. If 882 wants to 'give' it to kaz/bullet, then its up to him if he thinks it unfair.

// The issue is that icly, 882 would never give something like this up. It would be extremely ooc for him to say "Here, even though you called me a dick in your private logs I'll give you this uniform for the rest of my time as OfC which is about 24 hours."

But yeah when I see Kaz or Bullet on next I'll give it to one of them. I'll find some kind of reason for 882 to not want what he's always wanted lol
Irl I think it's unfair, but since you had to make a quick decision and at the time there were no other units on who were able to do it, I guess it's... okay. If only rp could be paused until things like this can be discussed with everyone or whatever, but then nothing would ever get done lol

Yeah, the problem with having to get something done quickly is usually that it takes ages to decide, and by that time somethings done up.
I know it is a little late to change things now, but there will probably be another chance soon, I enjoyed my time off from OfC.

<::|| Seems todays' events have snapped me from my previous mindset. This is good. I was promoted to EpU today, albeit, 182 had me scared - I thought I might have done something wrong, but it was just his play on things.
I felt like I did when I got rank 02, I felt I had more control over things and more power. I don't want to sound egotistical and elitist, that would just get me a negative imprint on other units. It's par for the course.
I'm going to have a word with either 602, or 227, see if they can give me any tips on being a good EpU. I may be the same rank, but they have far more valuable knowledge.
I only hope that they don't look down on me as a result. ||::>

Subject: Busiest day, ever.

<::|| Nearly 8 hours of non stop on duty action. Sums up my day. Earlier today, while doing some work inside, 318 (Or 031) received a paper regarding citizens supposedly threatening to bomb Loyalists, CWU Workers and the Nexus and CCA. With CmD Authorisation, I, 318 and another unit went in to sweep Sector 6. We came up with nothing, until we got to XCCR, where a citizen opened fire on us with a pistol. He retreated into XCCR itself, us units giving chase. Eventually, we downed him and retrieved the weapon from the scene, which I still have. Sweeping the rest of Sector 6 was relatively easy, then we regrouped with Command, detaining a long standing BoL, falling back to the nexus. Once there, we were debriefed, and I was assigned to Interrogate the BoL, in regards to the paper.

Interrogation complete, I requested orders from Command, who said to issue a Level 2 verdict, a mind wipe, then to release. Knowing that Command and a few other HC Units were in the HCMR, I requested that 562 move to my 10-20. Once there, I briefed him, then pacified the subject, moving him to the medwing. Once there, I requested to observe the procedure, which 562 allowed. I also got to help, pacifying the subject again so the operation could commence. I will not go into details about what happened, but I'm fairly sure he will remain on the good side of the Union.

Dismissed, I continued patrol, until called into the HCMR by NOVA Division Leader 584, on Command orders. It wasn't just me, it was EVERY unit. I'm keeping everything shut about what happened.

Some time after, 404 and another unit, 498, were at the top of the UCH, when they were fired upon by a citizen WITH A FREAKING SMG! Where the hell do they get this from? Needless to say, they were seen to by NOVA.

Two citizens in the space of a cycle managed to BREACH THE NEXUS. Even now, I don't know why or how they got in, but they were swiftly amputated. About 3-4 Cycles later, two more citizens entered the nexus, yet they managed to get into the damn firing range, and one had the balls to try the keypad! After radioing it in, Most, of the Officers on duty at the time assembled to my 10-20. Briefing them, we moved them to the HCMR, where 031 and 182 wanted to have a word with 864, the unit in charge of clamping the nexus entrance.

During the meeting, unit 240 walks into the HCMR, SMG out, killing both citizens and nearly killing me. Upon demanding to know why they did it, they simply ignored me, despite I and 318's multiple attempts to get them to comply. I reported back to the others, searching for 240. I couldn't find him anywhere in the nexus, and he refused to answer my calls for 10-20. Upon this, I returned back, relaying the possibility that 240 has gone rogue. With that in mind, units were scrambled to BOL for 240, and to report his location if seen. Shortly after, A unit was reported to have been shot and downed. Immediately, I assumed, as did others, that 240 was the root cause of it. I don't know what happened after, but I patrolled, and found a crate of SMG's lying behind the UCH. One was missing.

Either 240 had placed it there and used one, or, A citizen had taken one, without notifying us. Either way, we were on full alert. Soon after, 240 was officially declared rogue and malignant. I was called into the lobby by 318, who was overseeing three OTA Units. He told me that we were going to sweep Sector Six with the Overwatch. They were briefed, and we moved out, OTA taking lead. A Scanner was sent ahead, and quickly got de-serviced. OTA Units moved up, when one of them got hit in the head by what looked like a hot metal bar. We moved up, taking pot shots at 240, who was on the other side of the canals. I think I got a hit, seeing blood. He then retreated.

Moving up to the second tunnel system, I suggested to 318 that I and him should take the XCCR, while the OTA take the right side. He agreed, and so did the Overwatch, following through. There was nothing to report on our side, but I did see the bullet holes that were left as a result of the earlier 647E. We left the Overwatch to continue searching their side, Moving down to the Sector 6 platform, while I and 318 retreated to a clamp position in the Sector 1 Train station.

Once there, All units present, other than two, went into the tunnel. The group consisted of 182, 031, 318, Myself and 404. Overwatch confirmed a sighting of 240, shortly after, Three biosignal losses were reported. Dispatch radio'd that the OTA units and the Scanner were lost. Fearing the worst to happen, we moved with extreme caution. As we reached past the flipped train carriage, we were ordered to turn our flash lights off. This meant that I couldn't see anything, and had to rely on touch and sound. I'm surprised I made it. We got to the S6 platform, where we located the OTA's bodies. Something was missing - Their weapons. From this, I radio'd caution to the other units, as 240 may have an AR2. We re-swept Sector 6, finding nothing, before returning to the platform, where we saw 240 and a load of citizens in the apartment block. Sealing it off, we moved in, eventually killing 240. It's a shame, but, it was necessary. Citizens were amputated along with, including two inside of a closet.

Done, we moved back to the plaza via the train tunnels, and headed back to the nexus, where I spent some more time, before coming off duty.

The events of today have taught me a couple of things. Officers 182, 031 and 318 regard me highly, it seems, trusting me with information, and taking on my advice in certain situations. I can only hope I do not end up like 713, and end up being de-serviced for any reason other than serving the union.||::>

Subject: FOTO Shoot

<::|| I witnessed something I had never come across before during my time as a unit. Three cases of "External Armour Breach Detected", or something to that effect. This was broadcast over radio, with a location after. I had no idea what this meant as first, but after seeking confirmation from 522, I quickly assembled a team outside of FOTO, and went to breach. Moving in, there were two citizens behind metal barricades, each with shotguns and SISP's.

Being the breacher, I was one of the last units in. Normally, I would have moved to the center, however, the center of the room was an absolute death trap, as that's where the 647e's were firing towards. Instead, I moved right, seeking cover behind a shelving unit, as did other units. Shotgun at the ready, I got up every now and then, taking shots towards the targets. Most missed, however, the one shot I did get, I managed to kill them, even though I only shot them in the arm.

522 requested a status update shortly after, to which I replied that we are under fire, 11-99. 522 responded by throwing a flash grenade into the room. Fortunately, it landed behind the counter, which meant that only the citizen firing at us got affected. Once it went off, I called to move in, and we surrounded the citizen. Once I had ascertained that he was covered, I moved into the rear room, where I found two units, one being a recruit, and a citizen, who were beginning to wake up. From this, I had judged that the two citizens in the main room had held captive both the units and possibly the citizen, as the citizen in the back room was in a similar state. Upon asking the recruit what happened, he claimed he couldn't remember.

That done with, I called for NOVA to tend to a couple of injured units, while I tied the remaining 647e, under the watch of Commander 11711. After a debrief, in which I thought I was going to be yelled at, he ordered me to detain and interrogate, so I did. Once in interrogation, I tried to wake the citizen up, twice, via a kick and a stun to the back. No dice. Not one to wait, I decided to assist in the UCH with a Community Inspection, reason being, we wanted to ensure that no other citizens had access to such contraband.

Done and done, I returned to the nexus to see if our subject had awoken. Sure enough, he had, so I began to interrogate.
I started writing down a standard detainment form. It looked a bit like this.

Code: [Select]
APEX-EpU.234
Stan-somethingorother
24491
Two Elements of Level 1 Contraband, Capital Malcompliance, Homicide Class C, Assault Class 3C
Indefinite, pending amputation

I laid the contraband on the table for the citizen to see, after asking a few questions. He couldn't recognise it. He didn't seem to remember capturing anyone in FOTO, nor could he remember collaborating with another citizen to perform the acts of crime witnessed, nor could he remember the units breaching the building. In fact, the last thing he remembered, prior to waking up in detainment, was locking his bedroom door, and falling asleep.

After notifying the commander, I transferred him to treatment, where I and 11711 performed further treatment and interrogation. We got nowhere, so we exploded him.

Shortly after, I found GRID Officer 318 nearby. I asked to have a word, because I wanted a wrist mounted datapad. We moved to the firing range, where we began communications. Not only was 318 happy to issue me the datapad, but he also offered me a brand new piece of kit, known as a voice activated Heart Beat Sensor, loaded directly into the faceplate. I also got to see the GRID MoC for the first time. It's an impressive room. From what I could tell, the VAHBS is all software based, using existing kit within my face plate. That's fine by me. It means I can see where units and other citizens are within my general vicinity. The wrist/forearm mounted datapad is pretty neat as well. Makes it easier for me to look at various pieces of data.

After I received my kit, I then went to off duty status... hence why I'm writing this now.
This is 234, Signing off. ||::>
