CONNECTION ESTABLISHED New Log Opened: <::|| These logs are becoming less and less an obligation and more and more simply a research project. I find it interesting to look back over my previous logs, as I notice some things that before had not irritated me, but now do. There are really only two reasons I can see that High Command would allow us to have these logs. The first reason is so that they can monitor us, and determine how best to make us afraid, so we will cooperate better. The second reason is to keep us sane. Most of our interaction with other people involves torture, and that doesn't really help a person stay sane, as is obvious. They want us to be a little out of it, but not completely cracked. Change of subject, I have been with the Civil Protection forces for nearly a year now. When I joined, I was currently residing in City 38, which was stationed somewhere in Northern Canada. Since then, I was relocated to City 45 at the rank of 04 to replace a unit who had been previously amputated for reasons I do not know. I must admit, in all my time of being in this organization, I have not seen something so strange as what I did today. A request came in, something about an assault in the UCH showers. When we arrived, it was apparently a case of UPA involving three homosexual male citizens. I do find myself enjoying the ability to take out my pent up aggression by bashing a citizen in the back of the head with a shotgun handle. The occasion when this is allowed is definitely a rare one. Needless to say, all three were taken to the nexus, and shortly thereafter amputated. I still have yet to see Baker in the streets since a short while ago. Perhaps he has given up on being so out in the open with his loyalist behaviors. To be honest, he was getting slightly irritating. Well, I suppose that is it for today. An interesting concept to develop would be that of a SWEP that does not kill the target, rather it makes them turn into a ragdoll for a certain amount of time.
This concept would also support the theory that their power isn't directly lethal, but can still do some harm.

The only reason the scanner even got close to me was because it knew my name from a distance, which would be metagaming, since scanners can only tell your name once they've taken a photo, right?
He would've used the alt function to meta my name from a distance.

Scanners need to have some limits. I understand that you could ride that whole "Union tech is unknown" thing around the world and back, but seriously, there need to be limits to keep it reasonable. The union shouldn't be able to just automatically know who you are if they ever get a picture of you. It would've been reasonable had the scanner had an accurate description of me, which it did not.

Can I ask why you need a swep? Just RP it, if people ignore it then call an admin in.
Well, there isn't really a reason not to give them a SWEP. After all, Vortigaunt characters are some of the most trusted and elite roleplayers on the server.

So basically what you are saying is that the UU know everything about everyone all the time no matter what? Why should we have BOL's that include descriptions, or that lack names and such? Seeing that we know everything about everyone, shouldn't all of the information be filled out?
Either way, this is going to completely crush resistance RP.

In the start of Hl2 when you enter c17 (the home of breen, who is the important human to the combine) you are not checked and they don't do all of these measurements.
Also, for citizens previously livinging there, how would they measure them if they avoid the combine?

To you and other Vorts, this appears as "-Vortname- fluxes "Hello, my kin!"
To others, and non-vorts, it appears "-Vortname- fluxes "Cha'ar, set ma'h thul!"
The vort language would change, and could be a different result each time, or if you really wanted you could set up an actual alphabet and such.
