    A guide on how to meet and exceed the standards of a police officer in OCRP2.

    Job Specific Rules:
    Listed below are server rules specific to your job. Be aware police officers must follow laws in place, such as requesting search warrants before entering private property.

    • Do not arrest, tase or handcuff individuals for random purposes.
    • Obey ethical commands from police chief, the dispatcher, the mayor and S.W.A.T. in command of a crime scene.
    • Respond only to calls in which you are dispatched to.
    • Do not use the police radio for common talk and/or metagaming.
    • Do not charge ridiculously high fines or arrest for minor traffic violations.
    • Keep your sidearm's safety engaged and holstered if no threat is present.
    • Only use your light bar and siren if required.
    • Obey the laws in place.

    Information on how to get started as a police officer.

    To become a police officer you must first know how to be a police officer. Seeing as you are reading this guide, you should be ready. Next you must make your way down to the Nexus, as pictured below. Following this, meet the police NPC pictured below as well.

    Following your recruitment into the police force, beginners are suggested to partner with a more experienced player for learning purposes. However the next step is to get a vehicle. This can be found in the garage underneath the Nexus, via. the elevator beside the police NPC. Go to the garage and speak to this NPC to get a patrol vehicle.

    Job Description:
    All jobs have a description, the job of a police officer is no different! Below is a general summary of the policing experience.

    A police officer's job is to keep the streets calm, safe and crime free. Patrolling, monitoring traffic, listening to the dispatcher's requests and remaining on standby are key aspects in a day of a police officer's job. While you are to keep the streets safe and crime free, refrain from using too many police resources to do so. This includes police time and effort as five police officers are not needed for a red light infraction. Effort should further not be spent on protecting the mayor as there are other government officials who's job is to do just that!





    Your Purpose:
    Your purpose as a police officer in OCRP2.

    Your purpose as a police officer as mentioned before is to keep the streets calm, safe and crime free. You are to respond to the calls that the dispatcher has sent your way and deal with them, from a legal point of view. Calm and order is a great asset to the city of Evocity, something your job is to establish and protect. Your purpose is not limited to the streets however, domestic disputes, search raids and diverting the public from dangers are all part of a days work too!





    Job Specific Commands and Controls:
    A list of job specific commands and controls, as a police officer.

    Lights and Sirens: While in a police vehicle as the driver, SHIFT  or ATTACK2 is to toggle the light bar while, Q is to toggle the siren. While approaching intersections, use ALT or ATTACK1 for your alternate siren and notify traffic of your presence.

    Police Radio: There are two forms of the Police Radio. Vocal (microphone) and Text. To use the Vocal Police Radio, press T to toggle your radio, then speak as you would normally with a microphone. To use the Text Police Radio, type /radio prior to your message.

    Fining: While an individual is out of the vehicle press F3. A fining menu will open up and you can enter a reason and amount there.

    Police Computer: While looking at a police vehicle, press F2. This computer will allow you to request warrants, find property owners and check vehicle owners based upon the license plate number.





    Police Ranking:
    Ranking of police officers, based upon police game play experience.

    Recruit: (0-2hrs)
    • Level 1 pistol
    • Cannot spawn car (V.I.P./Gold exempt).
    • Zip ties, not handcuffs.

    Officer: (2-6hrs)
    • Level 2 pistol.
    • Can spawn the Vapid.
    • Handcuffs

    Corporal: (6-8hrs)
    • Level 3 pistol.
    • Police shotgun.
    • Promotion to chief enabled.
    • Can spawn SUV (Gold only).

    Detective: (8-12hrs)
    • Level 4 pistol.
    • Police shotgun.
    • Can spawn Dodge.
    • Can spawn SUV (Gold/V.I.P. only).

    Sergeant: (12+hrs)
    • Level 5 pistol.
    • Police Shotgun.
    • Police SMG.
    • Can issue warrants (if no chief is online).

    Government Resupply:
    In event of a glitch where a police radio is lost or dropped, or an officer runs out of ammo, this is the thing you will want. Located in the nexus, simply opening the locker will resupply you with the basic tools of being a police officer. Located inside may be additional items to help you in your policing services such as road spikes for pursuits, and shotguns for raids.

    Arresting:
    When arresting civilian, the detained civilian must be transported to the Nexus for booking. Only at this time can you use the handcuffs to the full extent (left click) and have the civilian start their sentence.

    Communication with the Dispatcher:
    Communication with the Dispatcher is key. Always inform the dispatch of your unit number followed by your situation and location. The Dispatcher's job is to dispatch the required Emergency Service personnel around the city, depending on the situation. Your location call can be the difference of life and death for you or a civilian.[/list]
