Title: Graphics Card Help - Is it dead? :c
Post by: OwenCobs on July 21, 2014, 02:07:14 PM
So i'll try to explain.

My pc display has been going wrong for a while now, the graphics card drivers kept stopping and recently it's been getting worse.

I've reformatted my pc recently but that has nothing to do with my issue but means I cant rollback on drivers to see, I did go back to my SP1 update but that did no good.

Recently it's been spazzing out in a pattern of space invaders giving me big chunks of colour and then switching off. The graphics card driver keeps unresponding also leading to crashes and just now my pc has decided it wont boot at all unless its in safe mode, even then it will still give me a screen of liney mess. Im currently on 1024x768 with my 9500GT card from 2008

I think your GPU shit the bed. I think you need to buy a new one.

Edit: Here's why I say that. Google "Broken graphics card" and you get this:

Why did this get abandoned and locked? That card deserves a better hand off than tossing it in the bin, the 9 series GPUs were amazing for the time and lasted me for a long time when I had no money or form of income to build a better pc.

RIP 9500, you served Cobs well. We will miss you!
