Is it going to be Serious RP?!?!
P.S. The board link is either missing or for VIP+, I can't access it.
But it was already announced before :| This isn't really an announcement as opposed to an update on the progress, but whatever. Glad to see people are happy, Crap-Head has been working forever on this and I'm hoping everyone gets what they expected. Gj Crap :) I know you spent a crazy amount of your own time on this, so you must also be excited as shit to know that it's just around the corner.Yeah, that's a better term for what I meant.
So any orgs we have now should be copied and pasted in like a text edit or microsoft word, and should be re-opend when OCRP2 comes out? Only do this if we are 1000% sure we are going to keep the org and have the org be transferred ye? I take it we will also have to buy it again and make it again in-game right? Just a few things I wanted to clear up.
Is it going to be Serious RP?!?!It'll be as close to 'serious' as a gamemode like this can get.

If the serious goes abit crazy, may I suggest going for a lite and a serious like ye olde days?
So like, is this a definite thing? It will actually be released soon?
I hope everyone's talking about semi-serious, OCRP as a full serious game mode would just kill the fun. You have to have at least some freedom to do the same old stuff we all remember from back in the days.
Yeah I think there would be 4 levels of RP in this case. Lite, what HRP is. Semi-serious, what OCRP was on good days. Serious, what OCRP was back in OC's serious days. And in-depth serious, what HL2RP is.I hope everyone's talking about semi-serious, OCRP as a full serious game mode would just kill the fun. like when it was orange cosmos, the 'serious' server and the lite.
HRP isn't light, it's semi-serious. Though it won't look like it if admins don't do their jobs.Yeah I think there would be 4 levels of RP in this case. Lite, what HRP is. I'd like to see a serious server at some point but I think semi-serious will be our best bet on launch. I made a nice little guide on semi-serious rp for you guys which goes over pretty much everything.

If it's semi-serious then I can administrate that. There might be an increase in bans though as rules for semi-serious are a bit harsher then lite. I cant administrate lite RP. Not my thing.HRP isn't light, it's semi-serious. Though it won't look like it if admins don't do their jobs.
Zing, Pretty hot burn there.
I call one final ocrp partyDo it, organize it in general discussion or something like that.
If you seriously believe that HRP is semi-serious, then perhaps you need to reevaluate what you consider "serious" and not. HRP is really lite; that's how most people play it. Honestly, you cannot force a level of seriousness onto a gamemode via rules and administration. It all depends on how the gamemode's been made. People will play it how they feel.HRP isn't light, it's semi-serious. Though it won't look like it if admins don't do their jobs.Yeah I think there would be 4 levels of RP in this case. Of course you can force a level of seriousness, just be more strict on rule breakers and teach players how something should be done in a semi-serious environment if they're playing it like it's lite. People can jump on hl2rp and play it however they want, just like you can jump on any other RP server and do the same. It's the way the administration runs the server that decides how you're going to play it if you wish to continue. If you seriously believe that HRP is semi-serious, then perhaps you need to reevaluate what you consider "serious" and not. will vip get any kind of beta testing or no?
orgs shouldn't be insanely powerful just because they have a ton of members. we want people to be very selective with who they put in their organizations and not have it like before where there was 2 or 3 really big orgs that pretty much controlled everything

Wont make a single bit of difference when people just join orgs together

This. Remember last time when 3 of the big orgs joined together to make an alliance and pretty much ruled the server?
What about passive orgs like the construction companies and event hosters and emergency services? If we cant have 20 people, can we at least have 3 allied orgs? (Police, Fire, and EMS) We are at 16 members and the servers arent even up yet.I would think they're fine and it creates a little more structure anyway, its more referring to crime orgs like 'the brotherhood' and 'the fallen' were back in the old days

But you have a fair point. 20 member slots are a bit small for our org, currently its not a problem, but it will be soon, we might have to slip off into 3 sections.

Status Bar
The status bar now has OCRP and OCRP2. Both servers and running the gamemode "Orange Cosmos RP 2". There is no difference between the two servers. The database is shared between the servers. This means that it doesn't matter if of the two servers you join, you will have all of your stuff.
We are not sure if two servers is something we will keep. We will see what time brings.
We're sure that on launch both servers will be filled. As it starts to slow down(provided it does) we'll get rid of the second server so everyone is forced in to one.QuoteStatus Bar

I don't think 2 servers is a good idea for OCRP, if you look at the map size and take into consideration that v33x is much bigger than v2d, then 20/30/40(not sure on each) per server for a big map like v33x will be a bit boring, if there are radio events, contests etc, players will be queuing up to join that server. I'm not sure how CG could handle a 50(not sure exactly) people in one server, but if they could I think that will be much better. More fun in events, construction RP. Also, if there are 2 servers, take for example HRP; it's harder for the admins to administrate because they can't be in 2 places at one time. 50 Players will be a lot to administrate, but if OCRP gets volunteers like HRP have, it could be a lot easier on the other admins.
Just an idea/opinion I thought I'd let out. I'm sure there is others who would prefer 2 servers, but as I said, this is just an opinion.
Better make sure that admin slot file that RTLK made is still working. We expect the server to be filled up very fast, and we'll need at least four admins on.Agreed, and perhaps open up some of the forums for us so we can make a plan for the opening days of OCRP this way we are more organized and better prepared to deal with everyone. I would hate to be the only guy on. one day.

There are no more forums to open up for OCRP2? Other than the suggestions board.
The only hidden board related to OCRP2 is the development board. Just use the OCRP board in the admin section, if you want to plan something for release?
What about credits that were bought and spent on the old OCRP? Will there be some form of reimbursement?Fresh start. You will recieve money via donator benefits though.
Finally Valve have accepted the update, gmod just updated :-* :-* :-*

The update is live but that doesn't mean OCRP2 will come out instantly, just that we can actually give you a release date now.We didnt expect for the formal release to come right away..
Well when everyone's saying "where's OCRP2?" and "isn't it coming out today?" in the shoutbox I'd say people are expecting the release right away. Just figured I'd post here instead of repeating it in the shoutbox every hour or so.The update is live but that doesn't mean OCRP2 will come out instantly, just that we can actually give you a release date now.We didnt expect for the formal release to come right away..
The update was the sign that OCRP is very close and we shall be excited.
We waited too long :)
OCRP 2 i cant wait more :(( i want to play it !!!Be patient, my friend. The outcome of this game mode will be spectacular.
