Title: New HL2RP Rule Request
Post by: Statua on February 15, 2012, 10:39:26 AM
-All sprays are considered IC and any unrealistic sprays will be deal with.  Example of an unrealistic spray:XXX (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6ChgFQ5Skso/TV4zUGUBfSI/AAAAAAAAA5o/Ax23zN7miHc/s1600/_135-.jpg)

I've spoken to Rolf on some instances of this, and it was pretty much agreed upon that it was best for people to ignore it.

However, the other side of me agrees with you, as you do need an IC item to apply your spray.

Yeah but then you dont know if the spray is actually in character or not. I use my spray (the alliance logo) to mark alliance locations IC. Then I see a random, no transparency, box spray on the ground that says "GET PWN3D N00B" which I'm not sure if ic or not.

I agree. It's disappointing that we would even need to add a rule like this. Things like this fall under "Common sense".

Totally agree with this, I remember a while back seeing a picture of a loli in the canals. I just kind of, looked around, said "Wow." to myself ICly and walked away.

All the while I said like "Stop it, boner." and he was like "no."

How about disabling sprays all together? Promoting this kind of unseriousness I will not tolerate.

What do you all think?

No to the disable because i use the alliance logo spray all the time to mark temporary areas such as a forward medical station

I along with a lot of others use IC sprays a lot.

I believe Raiden's  got a good idea we really don't need sprays not a lot of people use then ICly I know you do  Statua but that is only you and like 5 other people and what harm would it bring to the RPing if there wasn't sprays everywhere because most of the time when I see a spray it's something stupid like Get Pawnd Noob  or Hentai

Sprays > paper entities reading something like "
Here this a highly detailed spray paint picture of an excellent drawing of a x, with a few more pieces of x on it, which has a sideways piece of text in x type of style/writing/font, where it has a message tilted at x degrees...

You get the point, so, would you rather see a spray than a piece of paper about three hundred words long?

tl;dr plox don't remove sprays

Here's a thought

When you want to spray with a spray can, you can only choose from pre loaded ones, such as Combine propaganda, Lambdas, Alliance sprays, and various other HL2RP sprays. Instead of your own

Make it a flag you have to apply for and if you abuse it it gets removed.

Problem solved?

In my point of view. I do think this is great. We don't need people acquiring spray cans and then spraying material not related to the Half-Life 2 universe.

I disagree with disabling the spraying option because multiple people use it, like Statua said, he needs it in order to spray his faction logo in specific areas. Why not get applications for it instead?

Yes like it make it spray flag it does solve the problem I mean if it is abused then the admin  can easily just take it away

There is no point in a flag, and we need to stay away from getting a huge load of flags for the server. I do not wanna have to make 20 auths. just to get a few flags like that. All we need is the rule, in which case I +support, and everything would be fine.
