Well, guys, in the past we've given huge amount of access and privilege to our developers. Crap-Head and Tomasas had access to everything we have, this allowed them a lot of freedom and probably made their job a lot easier, but I think you can agree with me when I say that was a mistake.
We might not be the best at security, but we're learning. We've had our share of scares of data loss and leaks but we've patched the holes. Stevo has been somewhat of a guinea pig when it comes to limited access to development and new tools had to be developed for him to work, and he's been extremely patient with us.

Alright, it should work. VIP+ members should be able to go to someone's profile and click "Set Nickname" and enter a name in the box. It will appear to the right of their name everywhere on the forum (or not, idk). I'll be experimenting with how the nickname looks next to their name in the coming days. We'll see.

Alright, I'll get to work on it, here's the rundown.
The feature will be VIP+
You will go to the person's profile and click the button that says "Set Nickname" then you will be directed to a page with a text input that contains the current nickname you have set to them (if any) and you can change it, then hit Save or Cancel. The name will appear next to their own on forum posts or in the shoutbox in quotes to the right of their name.

How do you guys want the nicknames to be displayed? Like Steam does it (their name and the nickname to the right in quotes)? Or just replace their name with your set one?

I'll put it this way. CG isn't a turn-key thing. I do a lot to make sure it keeps running. If I just died one day waffle would be pulling his hair out. Should be a rule that if a title is added without the reciever's consent, bans can be issued and tge reciever's title reverted.
That would defeat the purpose. If you don't like a title you're free to complain about it and we may reset it and refund the buyer. Keep in mind that someone paid $5 to give you that title, it's more of a rip off to them if you don't like it.

It's stated in game and somewhere on the forums where I can't find but Waffle and I can remove people's titles if we get complaints about them or we deem them offensive in nature. Keep it SFW and friendly and we shouldn't have a problem.

I haven't played the DayZ standalone version, but I have done some reading on the Internet about its server support and what I'm finding is that it's useless to own a server. Rocket doesn't want to release the server files because he's afraid people will find ways to abuse it. Private hives won't come around until AT LEAST the full release. I still don't think we should restrict places in where we can remove our weapons.
If people want to RP removing a weapon in the middle of plaza, let them get gunned down. Not your fault if they die. It's only theirs. Need to take responsibility for their own actions.
I agree with this. If you think stupid people remove your immersion to RP, how does an admin noclipping in and physgunning him away sound?
