IC Character Name: Landon Chace
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.Landon lived in Dallas, an area with very high crime rates. He was robbed multiple times and even injured to the point where he had to visit the hospital. His father was part of a small-time street gang. They usually commited burglaries, so Landon was used to the police paying a visit once in a while, taking his father out for questioning.
Landon admires the CCA, and enjoys being around them. His biggest dream would be to have the ability of meeting the City Administrator. However, he doubts that this dream will ever fulfill. He is very inflicted by the speeches of the City Administrator, and he looks highly upon him.
Landon has only been in Sector Six once or twice. He regrets this, as he was shot in the face with a slingshot firing a rather large piece of glass. His nose was badly cut and blood poured down all over his clothes. His tokens were stolen and he was then beaten up further. He limped away from Sector Six as the anti-citizens disappeared with Landon's tokens.
Ever since this happened he has developed a certain hatred for anti-citizens, or generally the people who reside in Sector Six. He certainly knows that the Combine Civil Authority can be very harsh, and some people end up disliking them, but he also knows that it is for the greater good. He usually tries to refresh people's view of the Combine Civil Authority whenever he's able to, trying to convince people to start reporting crimes and such, seeing as it pays out well. He will try and be nicer than most of the high commands (he will fail), assuming he ever gets this far. I think this will be an interesting journey for Landon, watching him how he develops from the nice and classy fellow to a coldblooded and ruthless monster.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)Landon is a very trustworthy character. He will not lie, and especially not to the Union. He openly talks about his feelings and usually tries to start small chit-chats between him and units he finds friendly. He is generally very friendly, but he has a certain hatred for anti-citizens. He is a very classy type, and usually tries to play the white-knight when near women. Due to his slight form of Obsessive-Compulsive disorder, he never starts anything he wont be able to finish. He has notable generousity and kindness aswell.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.This is going to be a very new RP experience for me, since Catalyst Gaming's HL2RP pretty much beats everything I've seen so far. The CCA structure here is extremely developed and maintained. Although I have previous experience with the CCA, I have no doubts that this will be a completely new and amazing experience for both me and Landon.
For Landon this is basically going to be an amazing journey of upholding the law and performing duties. It will also be a rather interesting development from the "quite-the-classy" fellow to the coldblooded annihilator of humankind, as mentioned above.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Landon was born in Beverly Hills, Texas. When he was around the age of eleven, him and his father and him moved to Dallas. His father was unemployed, this meaning that they were very poor. They lived in an area with extremely high crime rates. Landon was robbed multiple times and even injured to the point where he had to pay a visit to the hospital. Landon's father taught him basic manners, and tried to educate him as much as he could, regardless of his unemployment.
Landon's mother passed away upon giving birth to Landon, so his family wasn't too large.
Landon's father was part of a small-time street gang, usually performing burglaries and muggings around low-population areas, so Landon was used to the police paying a visit once in a while, taking his father out for questioning. Although he was never directly caught, this drastically changed.
One day Landon visited his friend, Cooper. They usually played small games of basketball in the courtyard. By the time of half-past seven PM, Landon decided that it was time to say goodbye and walk home.
He arrived, and found the appartment empty. He sat down on the couch and turned on the TV, trying to make time pass.
Later that day, he recieved a phonecall from the Dallas Police Department. They claimed that his father passed away in a car chase, where a police interceptor rammed his car, causing him to lose control and crash off a cliff. Landon immediately hung up the phone, starting to cry. He ran out of the house, into the streets. He was now homeless. He kept running and running, untill he found himself in a drained canal. He was shivering and afraid. He sat down against the wall and then fell into a deep sleep.
The next day, as Landon woke up, he fell completely refreshed and rested. He got up, and started to think about his father. He went off into the forest, looking for shelter. He spotted a small cabin. He entered and looked around. The cabin was completely empty. A large amount of wooden crates were stacked ontop of eachother. He opened all of them, revealing what's inside. It was food.
Landon decided to stay in the cabin for multiple months. He wondered if the police were looking for him. One day, as Landon awoke, he stepped outside to see the sky ripped open in blue storms. Strange creatures started to appear all over the earth. He spotted a few of them, wondering where the hell they came from. As they started to approach him, Landon ran into his appartment, sealing the door.
He stared out the window, as he saw massive floating ships besiege the earth. Loud gunfire and yelling was heard in the background. He paniced, quickly making the decision of running out into the open. He kept running and running, untill he reached a mall. The gunfire started to become louder. The mall was completely destroyed and in ruins. He entered, noticing a rather large pile of bodies, buried in the remains of the mall. He held back his need to vomit, and quickly ran outside. A rather large metalized vehicle came rolling across the street, stopping infront of him. It looked extremely heavy, and he could tell that it was armored.
Three heavily armored men stepped out, walking up to him. Landon stood still, watching as the armed men slowly approached him. He was about to say something, but he was immediately knocked across the head with the butt of a rather large unknown rifle. He fell to the floor, moaning as he saw the blood pour down his nose. He then slowly passed out.
Landon woke up in a trainstation. He stood up, looking around, wondering what had happened. He felt completely empty inside.
He started to have a light amnesia and strong headache. He then noticed two doors right infront of him. He opened them, stepping outside. A strong sun glare blinded his eyes. He immediately covered them with his hands, moaning. He felt like he forgot something, but he had no idea what it was. He slowly proceeded to walk down the stairs. A large column-shaped structure was built infront of the train station. He walked up to it, touching it with his hand. He suddenly heard a strict, robotic voice from behind, ordering him to move along. Landon turned around, spotting a man with a metal stick in his hand.
He stood still, staring at Landon. Landon was speechless, so he just stood there, watching. The man walked up to Landon with heavy steps. He was wearing a mask. Two beeps emmited and he began speaking. "Citizen, I said move along."
Landon ignored the order and asked the man how he got here.
The man answered as following; "Citizen, you were transferred here by train. Now move along, this is your final warning."
Landon began to move, still wondering over what had happened. He noticed more of the armored men, walking around the plaza. Landon spotted a big poster with white letters, indicating "City 45".
Landon has now been living in City Fourtyfive for nine months. He closely inspects the units who stroll around the plaza and writes down their behaviour. He is rather paranoid and avoids blending into big groups, as he knows that the Civil Protection dislikes those.
He admires them and hopes that one day he could become a part of the strict and lawful force that is the Combine Civil Authority.

OOC Details1. How long have you played on role-playing servers in general?Four years. Also did roleplay on SA-MP shortly before I discovered Garry's Mod.
2. How long have you played on serious servers?Three years. (I've been on Slidefuse, TnB, and Kuro's roleplay server way back.)
3. How long have you played on Catalyst Gaming? For almost a year, but I've sadly been inactive due to serious IRL problems.

7. What�s your most memorable quality RP experience?My most memorable quality RP experience was on another server, running the map City Eighteen, which I liked very much.
I was the Divisional Leader of VICE there. I was sitting in my office, repairing scanner units, as multiple armed 647E's were reported to be in D2. I got up from my desk, calling my fellow units in for a meeting. I commenced an entire sweep of D2, using the SHIELD and SWORD Divisional Leaders for assistance. I hit the judgement waiver button and proceeded into D2, with a total of about 7 units. D2 was filled with citizens, which were all told to get on the wall and prepare for an inspection. After searching the citizens, we proceeded to go further into D2's dark and intimidating streets.
We found a warehouse, which was heavily sealed. It was barricaded with benches on the outside. I ordered one of my fellow units to tear down the barricade. While he tried to rip it down, a bullet hit him through the head from one of the rooftops. (This was roleplayed, dont worry.) Me and my team quickly turned, scanning all the rooftops for positive threats. We quickly climbed the barricade instead of tearing it down, as we didnt have much time. We shot down the door leading into the warehouse, as we spotted a rather large group of citizens. Two of them were armed, and they immediately pulled their firearms.
They were gunned down on the spot, not given a chance to surrender. (Again, everything was roleplayed appropiately)
The sweep had proven succesful. Me and my team double-timed it back to the Nexus so I could write a full sweep-report directly to the Sectorial Commander.
The remaining citizens were all searched for contraband. Half of them were guilty. The sweep was amazingly fun and blood pumping, and the shooter on the rooftop surrendered. He was tortured and then amputated later on. There were no complaints, no OOC spam, no mingebags. Needless to say, this was clearly my best roleplay experience on Half Life 2 Roleplay.
I hope to have even better ones on Catalyst Gaming, as I really do plan on staying here.

1. Have you ever been detained or apprehended for a Sociostability Infringement before? If so, explain?I was looking at the nexus complex which I found rather intriguing. I was told not to loiter, but I still felt the need to just sit and look at it. I was then beaten for not following an order, but I was never detained. This did not go on my record either. I have reported multiple anti-citizens so far and my record is completely clean aswell. I guarantee you that these foolish mistakes will not happen anywhere in the near future.
2. Do you regularly eat Combine Civil Authority Issued Rations? Yes, they are very healthy. If I run out of them, I usually purchase a can of Breen's Water from a vending machine with my leftover tokens.
3. Are you willing to give your life to the cause of the Universal Union?Ofcourse. In my opinion, anything less wouldn't suffice.
4. Do you as a Citizen and future Civil Protection Member accept ALL actions performed by you and those under your command as your OWN responsibility?Yes, I take full responsibility of what happens under my command.
5. Will you remain loyal and faithful to the Universal Union as long as you live?Yes, as noted above, anything less would definately not suffice.
6. Why do you want to join the Combine Civil Authority?I wish to make a difference in this world. Change is possible, but only under the supervision of the Combine Civil Authority. They are the noble guardians of the human race. However, then there's also the people who wish to resist against this gift. Those are the anti-citizens, that need to be eradicated for the greater good. I feel that there is not being done enough against this issue, therefore I wish to lend a hand to help maintain full control of the city. I have always found the Combine Civil Authority rather intriguing. I admire the people who step out of their ordinary citizen-life to help protect the greater cause and it's followers. I wish to be seen as something else than as just a useless citizen. I wish to make change happen.
